Trigun was a phenomenon. It is safe to say that Trigun became one of the most appreciated cult classic shounen anime. The themes, the characters, and the plot are simply quite appealing to every shounen genre enthusiast.
Trigun revolves around Vash the Stampede, who has a bounty of $60,000,000,000 on his head! He has been dubbed a ruthless villain who has caused mass destruction everywhere he goes, leaving a trail of death behind him.
He can be dangerous to someone even if they make so much as some eye contact with him, so they say about him. He is even said to wreck entire cities for just one reason- “fun.” But in reality, Vash is a soft man who claims he has neither ever killed nor caused any form of destruction as he is said to cause.
The anime shows Vash’s journey across the wasteland of a planet named Gunsmoke while he is accompanied by Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, two insurance agents who are trying to lower the destructive impact that Vash may have on his surroundings.
Things take a turn when the trio is hunted by a group of lethal assassins that are aiming to bring suffering to the three. Amidst all this, Vash is compelled to come to terms with his past, which is filled with agony, and his morals are put to the test.
