About Us

Introduction

Otakukart was founded in 2015 and has since grown to become a global destination for pop culture enthusiasts. What started as a small community has evolved into a powerhouse with millions of followers across our social media profiles and website.

With a massive monthly reach, we strive to maintain a transparent relationship with our fans while providing them with engaging, high-quality content. We have spent the last decade spreading our love for Anime, Manga, Kpop, Movies, TV Shows, and Gaming to as many people as possible.

Objective

Our primary objective is to serve as a reliable, all-encompassing source for global entertainment news.

We accomplish this by quickly covering trending topics, from the latest One Piece chapters to Marvel Cinematic Universe updates—while maintaining high editorial standards. Our editors verify everything we publish, distinguishing clearly between official announcements and community theories.

To that end, we have established direct relationships with major studios and publishers, including Netflix, Warner Bros., Marvel Studios, and Crunchyroll. These partnerships allow us to provide exclusive coverage, early access reviews, and verified insights that you won’t find elsewhere.

Additionally, our boots-on-the-ground teams in Japan and South Korea actively participate in major events like Anime Expo and Jump Festa to bring first-hand perspectives to the international community.

Teams

To curate interesting content and keep our operation running smoothly, we have established multiple specialized teams within Otakukart. Each has its own set of goals and success metrics.

Social Media Team

The Social Media department at Otakukart manages our massive public presence on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter/X, and Instagram. This team stays ahead of viral trends, using real-time data to create, schedule, and promote content that resonates with millions of fans daily. Beyond our own channels, this department works with licensors to assist in brand management and promotional campaigns.

News and Editorial Team

The Editorial department is the backbone of Otakukart. Established to ensure accuracy and speed, this team is responsible for verifying news, coordinating with our industry contacts for press materials, and producing our signature deep-dive features. They handle everything from breaking news to our extensive database of release guides.

Community Team

The Community department is in charge of engagement and moderation. They manage our dedicated fan groups and ensure that the conversation remains healthy and fun. This team collaborates closely with the Social Media department to gather feedback and develop strategies that keep our audience engaged.

Operations and Tech

Behind the scenes, our Operations team ensures the platform runs flawlessly. From managing our massive database of anime and manga information to developing tools that help fans track release dates, this team builds the infrastructure that powers Otakukart.

Operations

We began our journey on 4th May 2011, before officially starting as a passionate community project launching our full website on October 25, 2015. Since then, we have expanded from a niche anime blog into a comprehensive entertainment news outlet.

Location

We do not have a single physical office. We are a modern, digital-first company. Our team members work remotely from all over the world, with key correspondents located in Tokyo, Seoul, the United States, India, Philippines, and South Africa.
