10. Siege of Jadotville
This movie is very different from the other war movies that you might have seen or heard about. It doesn’t tell us about any famous battles or portray any renowned heroes. Instead, it informs us about a battle that was fought but was never heard about before and about the brave heroes who fought it.
The US first sent their troops for peacemaking, but it soon turned into an all-out battle between the Irish battalion Company ‘A’ and more than 3000 enemy soldiers.
Even though the odds were against them, as they were largely outnumbered, the Irish soldiers were able to hold their own against them for quite a long time after surrendering to them because of a lack of resources. After the UN got this news, they decided to cover it up as it was very shameful for Company ‘A’ to surrender like that, and around 2005 only, a full investigation was conducted that cleared the soldiers’ reputations.

One element that Christopher Nolan added in this film is that there is very less dialogue. Instead, he used his skills in cinematography combined with great music to portray a scene which makes it an overall better experience.
