Amongst the most watched genre in anime apart from action is a romantic comedy, a diverse category with a number of cool characters that stay with us (and some tsundere too). Personally speaking, a great number of my friends who are into anime began with light-hearted romantic comedies that they hold dear to this day. The genre is often light and slice-of-life, which makes it a good watch.
One of the latest animes in this category is “More Than a married Couple, But Not Lovers.” The 2022 anime finished airing recently and ignited a spark for romantic comedies in the weebs yet again. The story revolves around Jirou Yakuin, a high school student who happens to be in love with his childhood friend Shiori Sakurazaka.
Their school follows a “marriage practical” program (really), which has pairs of boys and girls live together as married couples, and their progress and compatibility are then monitored by the administration.
Jirou wants to be paired with Shiori. There is another person, the cheery Akari Watanabe, who also wishes for her crush, Minami Tenjin, to be paired with her for the program. Things turn upside down when Jirou and Akari get paired together.
It gets even worse when they realize that Shiori and Minami are together as well! The anime follows Jirou and Asahi as they struggle to become a high-ranked couple with a lot of points, something that will make them able to switch partners in the future. But even for that, they are going to need the consent of the other couple.
The anime has a good MAL rating and is easily highly watched. If you are looking to experience romantic comedies, most of them based on school life and similar to More Than a Married Couple, here is a list of 38 Anime like More Than a Married Couple.

Hori may be a popular school student, but she is a devoted older sister who takes care of her little brother and also looks after the house because both of her parents work. Miyamura has a body full of tattoos and several piercings, which he hides from everyone at school.
