45. Macross Plus
Macross Plus is a Japanese OVA (original video animation) series that was released in 1994. It is set in the same universe as the popular Macross franchise and is a sequel to the original Macross TV series that aired in the 1980s.
The plot of Macross Plus centers around three main characters: Isamu Alva Dyson, a test pilot for the UN Spacy; Guld Goa Bowman, a rival test pilot and member of the Zentradi alien race; and Myung Fang Lone, a former love interest of both Isamu and Guld.
The story takes place on the planet Eden, where the UN Spacy is testing a new prototype transformable fighter called the YF-19. Isamu is chosen to be the primary pilot of the YF-19, while Guld pilots the rival YF-21.
As the two pilots compete against each other in the testing program, they are also drawn into a complex web of relationships and personal conflicts involving Myung and the development of an advanced virtual idol named Sharon Apple.
