Cora later doubted if she was right when it came to performing hypnosis on Jo without asking Will. Cora tried to apologize but was stubborn, leading to an argument between Will and Cora. The episode closes with Cora and Will intimate with each other as Stella looks on from her house’s window.
The Essex Serpent Season 1 Episode 3 Review
The Essex Serpent Season 1 Episode 3, for the most part of the episode, continues to delve into the thought that there could be a rational explanation for this serpent’s story. That’s the foremost reason Cora invited Luke to join her. They spent time figuring out if there was a way to know what the children felt.
Luke recently had success making people believe that heart surgery is possible after he saved a life with that procedure. Similarly, he was hoping that Hypnosis is something that may work around here to get some answers.
For the first time around, the show delved into the supernatural side of things towards the ending, with Jo revealing that a spell summoned the serpent. How much of its truth is something the coming episodes may tell.
Meanwhile, the show has sowed seeds for people of the town to hate Cora. We already saw one of those examples during the funeral of Gracie. Now people are head-on, blaming her for everything related to the serpent, right from the incident in the classroom to what the fishermen saw.
At the same time, Cora and Will might have found themselves arguing over here. But they are growing close to each other, and we wonder how Stella would react to this in the next episode.
