Nintendo Download August 28, 2026: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Beta, Elden Ring and New Switch Games

Nintendo has revealed its latest Nintendo Download lineup, and this week’s update is packed with major releases for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch owners. The biggest highlight is the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta, which gives Switch 2 players an early chance to try the next entry in the long-running shooter series before its October launch.

The week also brings ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition to Nintendo Switch 2, alongside the latest METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2. Nintendo eShop users can also choose from a large selection of new digital games, while Nintendo Music is expanding with fresh playlists inspired by SimCity, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Kart World.

Alongside the new releases, Nintendo has launched a limited-time Blockbuster Sale and added new My Nintendo rewards. Here is everything featured in this week’s Nintendo Download update.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta and Major Switch 2 Releases Lead the Week

The biggest event of the week is the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta, which will be available to all Nintendo Switch 2 players from Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. PT until Sept. 1 at 10 a.m. PT. Players will be able to try a playable Campaign mission, multiplayer modes and other new content while earning in-game Beta rewards.

Nintendo also confirmed that all Switch 2 players will be able to use the Vault Edition operators and weapons during the Open Beta, even if they have not pre-ordered the game. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on Oct. 23, with pre-orders now available through the Nintendo eShop.

The new game will take players from trench warfare in Korea to close-quarters battles in New York and high-speed chases through Paris. Its campaign follows the collapsing front lines of a global conflict while Captain Price wages a personal war from the shadows. The game will also feature multiplayer built around fluid movement and a new DMZ experience where players must make difficult decisions during extraction missions.

ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition also arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on Aug. 28. The edition includes the base game, the SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE expansion, new weapons and armor, plus a new appearance customization option for Torrent.

Another major addition is METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2, which is available on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. The collection includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, bringing two major entries from the stealth action series to Nintendo’s platforms.

Nintendo Switch 2 owners can also pre-order Orbitals, a retro anime-inspired two-player co-op adventure starring Maki and Omura. The pair must survive the deadly Storm Wall and the dangers beyond it to save their home when the game launches on Sept. 3.

New Nintendo eShop Games, Nintendo Music and Blockbuster Sale

The Nintendo Switch 2 eShop also receives several other games this week, including Another Crab’s Treasure – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, BRIGANDINE ABYSS, Dogpile, Lou’s Lagoon – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Quest of Dungeons.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch lineup includes titles such as 1964 Operation Velvet Twins, A Tower Full Of Cats, Aggelos 2, CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS, Chew Chew Mimic, Lou’s Lagoon, Magnetail, Monst, My Friendly Little Island Deluxe, Tearscape and With Eyes of Ice.

Nintendo Music is also expanding with new playlists. The SimCity playlist includes tracks such as “Dr. Wright,” “Amusement Park” and “Megalopolis,” while the new Mario Kart additions bring Free Roam tracks from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and bonus tracks from Mario Kart World.

The Blockbuster Sale is now live on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, offering deals on selected digital games from Aug. 28 through Sept. 9 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Nintendo has also introduced new My Nintendo rewards, including a Pokémon Pokopia Notebook for 500 Platinum Points and a Star Fox Collectible Patch Set for 400 Platinum Points. Fans can additionally enter the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Vinyl Soundtrack Sweepstakes for a chance to win a limited-edition eight-LP box set featuring 130 specially mastered tracks.
