The Palworld community is no stranger to creative fan-made content, but a pair of viral NSFW Palworld mods recently caught the attention of an unexpected viewer—Pocketpair publishing chief John Buckley. The executive responded to two modded screenshots shared on social media, joking about one particularly explicit creation in a post that quickly gained traction among fans.

The exchange has once again demonstrated how active the game’s modding scene has become since its launch. While Pocketpair has supported community creativity in various ways, Buckley’s playful reaction also made it clear that these modifications are not official additions to the survival game.

Pocketpair executive jokes about fan-made Palworld mods

One of the featured mods, created by Reldrik, showcased a heavily customized version of the Pal Sekhmet dancing behind Master Chief from Halo alongside a machine from Ultrakill, referencing Palworld’s previous collaboration with the indie shooter. The bizarre crossover quickly drew attention online, with Buckley reposting the clip despite its surreal presentation.

“Fun. Palworld is about having fun :)” he reacted.

The second mod, shared by tuna_fan68, pushed things much further by featuring an overtly sexualized version of Lovander, one of Palworld’s creatures already known within the community for its flirtatious in-game design. The modified character appeared in revealing attire alongside an equally customized player avatar, making it one of the more controversial pieces of fan content to circulate on social media.

Responding to the screenshot, Buckley joked,

“I could be wrong…but I don’t think this is official…”

The brief comment quickly spread across social platforms, with many players appreciating the developer’s humorous acknowledgment of the community’s more unconventional creations.

Since its early access launch, Palworld has developed one of the busiest modding communities in gaming. Players have created everything from quality-of-life improvements and gameplay overhauls to character replacements, visual enhancements, and crossover mods inspired by popular franchises.

Although Pocketpair has generally embraced community creativity, the company has never suggested that explicit fan-made content is part of its official vision for the game. Buckley’s response instead served as a tongue-in-cheek reminder that once something is shared online, it can easily find its way to developers, gaming media, and a much larger audience than originally intended.

For fans, the viral exchange was another example of the close relationship between Palworld’s developers and its passionate community—even when that community occasionally creates something completely unexpected.
