Pokémon fans looking to add some nostalgic style to their Nintendo Switch 2 setup will soon have new official accessories inspired by the franchise’s earliest days. Gaming accessory manufacturer HORI has revealed the Pokémon Pixel Art Nintendo Switch 2 Collection, featuring designs based on the classic Pokémon Red and Green era.

The collection recreates the pixel-art style of the original Generation 1 Pokémon games, giving longtime fans a chance to bring a piece of Kanto nostalgia to Nintendo’s latest console. According to HORI, the accessories are scheduled to launch on September 30, 2026, with pre-orders already available.

HORI’s Pokémon Switch 2 Collection Features Retro Controllers and Cases

The highlight of the lineup is a pair of Wired HORIPAD TURBO controllers featuring separate Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green designs. Each controller uses pixel-art visuals inspired by the original games, with colors and artwork reflecting the two classic versions.

The controllers are priced around $34 and feature a detachable wired connection. However, they do not include motion controls, vibration, haptic feedback, Amiibo support, or the ability to power on a sleeping Nintendo Switch 2 console.

Alongside the controllers, HORI is releasing matching storage accessories. The Nintendo Switch 2 Pixel Art Shoulder Pouch comes in Red and Green versions and can store the console, cables, accessories, and up to six game cards.

The collection also includes a Quilted Medium Pouch with a padded exterior and a smaller 24-Game Card Case designed for portable storage. The pouches are priced at approximately $31, while the card cases cost around $10.

The timing of HORI’s collection coincides with continued excitement around the future of the Pokémon franchise. The next major mainline entry, Pokémon Winds & Waves, is expected to introduce a new tropical island region when it launches in 2027.

While details about the upcoming game remain limited, reports and online speculation have suggested possible features such as new regional Pokémon forms, expanded multiplayer options, and updated traversal mechanics.

The Pokémon Pixel Art Nintendo Switch 2 Collection gives fans a way to celebrate the series’ history while preparing for its future. With its focus on the original pixel-art aesthetic, the lineup is designed specifically for players who grew up with the first Pokémon adventures and want their modern hardware to reflect that nostalgia.
