Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has received a substantial update on Nintendo Switch 2, as developer Owlcat Games works to address the technical issues that overshadowed the game’s launch.
Alongside the patch, the studio has announced that all downloadable content will be free for Switch 2 players as an apology.
The news was first revealed by Nintendo Life, which reported that the update was scheduled to go live at 8 a.m. PDT.
The update focuses on improving performance, stability, visuals, and presentation, while also eliminating numerous bugs that affected the Switch 2 version.
At launch, the port drew criticism for frame rate drops, long loading times, crashes, and unresponsive menus. Owlcat Games said it is “determined to make amends,” signaling its commitment to improving the experience for Switch 2 players.
As part of that effort, everyone who owns the game on Nintendo Switch 2 will receive all additional content at no extra cost. This includes the Digital Deluxe Edition content, along with the Void Shadows and Lex Imperialis expansions. Owlcat also confirmed that the third and fourth DLC expansions will be provided for free once they are released.
The move represents a significant goodwill gesture as the studio works to rebuild confidence in the Switch 2 version of Rogue Trader.
