Call of Duty. A classic. Started off as a PC video game, and look where it has landed now. Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, Wii, and you name it. Activision really seems to be upping its game! Call of Duty almost made it to the board game arena as a trading card game. Unfortunately, Upper Deck Entertainment scrapped the idea before its release in 2008.
But I guess COD never really needed to be a board game because it has proven to be the fastest-selling video game in the history of the video game industry, with 8.8 million copies of Modern Warfare III being sold out in the first month of its release.
Activision has released over 22 COD games. But we are going to look at two of those from the series. One of which is our very loved Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. MW2, released on 28th October 2022, has won the hearts of our fellow games just like any other COD game. Modern Warfare II features a thrilling campaign of 17 fast-paced missions with detailed maps and environments, new gear, and so much more. The second game on our agenda is Call of Duty: Warzone. Released on 10th March 2020, the game engaged the audience with its easy controls, engaging sound effects, and 10/10 graphics.

Difference Between Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone
COD: Warzone has now been renamed to Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera to differentiate from the newer version of Battle Royale. Warzone Caldera also does not have the same support as before and is no longer available as a standalone download.
MW2 V/S Caldera?
Below are a few features that prove MW2 remains superior to Caldera.
Missing Plunder Mode
Caldera seems to lack plunder mode. This style of gameplay highlighted collecting as much money as possible.
Single Gameplay mode
Warzone Caldera has only one mode and can only be played with solos and quads. Whereas MW2 has multiple game modes like Team Deathmatch, Knock Out, Search and Destroy, Gun Game, and more.
All in all, MW2 seemingly wins the battle amongst avid gamers. However, a problem both these games seem to have is with their packet burst.

What is Packet Bursting?
So, what is this packet burst? Imagine you are in an intense battle, and your character starts to stutter or freeze. This is packet loss which is also known as packet burst. This happens when the data exchange between your device and the game server is interrupted, giving you a whole lot of lag and stuttering.
Quick and Easy Packet Burst Fixes
If you are experiencing packet bursts because of server-side problems, there’s not much you can do to fix it. But! If the issue is on your end. We’ve got you!
1. Internet Connection
First and foremost, the easiest fix for any network issue is a good ‘ol on and-off technique. Am I right, or am I right? Wi-Fi is the most likely problem. That is if you’re using one. We suggest you connect an ethernet cable to your device and router.
2. On-Demand Texture Streaming Settings
This setting loads textures in the background during gameplay. If the bandwidth is low, it can cause some network problems and ultimately mess up the experience. Therefore, it is recommended to disable it. Players can apply this fix on both consoles and PC.
Here’s how you do it:
Settings > Graphics > On-Demand Texture Streaming
3. Crossplay for PlayStation Users
This workaround only applies to PS4 and PS5 users, as currently, only these users can disable Crossplay. This feature allows you to interact with players on other platforms. Disabling it will limit the pool of available players and only match users on the same device. This can help reduce packet bursts for most players.
Here’s how you do it:
Settings > Account and Network > Crossplay
That is everything you need to know about how to fix packet bursts in MW2 and Warzone. If none of these work, we recommend rebooting your router. Despite your countless tries, if this does not fix the problem, you might want to contact Activision Support.
