Alright! So we got the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 217 spoilers and raw scans, and this chapter is so exciting, which is going to continue the re-emergence of Sukuna, and we are seeing him taking on the strongest opponent that he has fought so far in the series, I mean like by far, and I am pretty sure that you know who it is, but before we go over to that part, let’s us first take a quick look at what happened previously in chapter 216.
So we saw that Uraume had completed the ‘bath’ for Sukuna, this bath has a ritual that serves multiple purposes, but mainly for Sukuna it was for the purpose to submerge Megumi‘s soul, and this is basically so that Sukuna could take over the complete control of Megumi because we saw that he was having some problem with that, and could not be able to use his powers with full potential.
After Sukuna gets out of the bath, he realizes that it still isn’t enough to completely suppress Megumi; this is why he decides to take out Yorozu, also known as Tsumiki’s sister because he says that the destruction of her will allow him to completely bury Megumi’s soul. As we found out in the previous chapters, Tsumiki’s body was taken over by the ancient sorcerer, Yorozu, just like how Yuuji’s body was taken over by Sukuna.
They both had consumed curse objects, although, with Tsumiki, it was more secretive. After that, Sukuna asks where Tsumiki, aka Yorozu, and it turns out that she was in Sendai Colony, this is why Kenjaku winds up taking Sukuna there, at the cost of his points, which is interesting, and that is not being addressed in this chapter, but just want to point out that Kenjaku does have Megumi/Sukuna’s points right now.
When Sukuna goes to Sandai, he immediately runs to Ryu, and no dips him, unfortunately, but after that, he runs into Yorozu, and that is where the chapter ends, but that brings us to the beginning of this one.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 217 Spoilers and Full Summary
When the chapter begins, we see that Sukuna immediately summons Divine Dogs in order to attack Yorozu. So yeah, we are seeing Sukuna’s Divine Dogs in this chapter. It is not what I thought they were going to be, at least because many of the Jujutsu Kaisen fans predicted that the Sukuna’s Divine Dogs would probably wind up looking like something like Overgrown Rover from One Punch Man. I agreed, but no, that is actually not the case; they are more like whatever Alucard is able to summon with his own Divine Dog Wolf stuff that he does in Hellsing.

It is very similar to that, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Gege were directly influenced by it, but it looks pretty dope. It appears as though they are like emanating from Sukuna himself. He can, like I don’t know, use them to wrap around his limbs and amplify that or something, regardless they are still not really able to do much against Yorozu because, as I said, she is going to be his strongest opponent, we have seen so far. Yorozu is actually defiantly unbelievably powerful.
If Yorozu were to have fought Megumi a couple of chapters back when it was revealed that she had taken over Tsumiki, she would probably have instantly destroyed him because she is unbelievable power.
This is also why Yorizu escapes from Sukuna’s Divine Dogs and makes her technique surround Sukuna and tries to somehow crush him with it. Still, Sukuna nullifies her attack as he has already evaded it. With this, Yorozu stops her own attack and asks Sukuna why he is using the energy from the vessel (Megumi) instead of using his ‘shrine.’
This is when Sukuna reveals that he will not use his own powers until he completely sinks Megumi’s soul, and not only that, he says that he is doing all this to look like Megumi has killed his own sister.
This was obviously revealed in the previous chapter, and we know what Sukuna’s goal is here and why he is kind of nerfing himself. I guess you could say just using the Ten Shadows, and that is hilarious; it is not like nerfing anybody, but Sukuna guesses it is.
Sukuna’s Shrine
One thing that we should not here is that Yorozu, while addressing Sukuna’s technique, says “Shine”, and apparently, this is not a malevolent Shrine, which we have come to know as Sukuna’s Domain Expansion, apparently she is referring to Sukuna’s curse technique here as Shrine, and this is something we didn’t know, and this could be what Sukuna’s innate ability is, and I guess it is a weaker version of what Malevolent Shrine is, and we saw the Malevolent Shrine basically like created this a radius, without a closed domain on it, and he just filled it up with like dismantle and cleave, and it just destroyed everything, it was like a bomb when off in the city.
This is why I think that maybe Shrine is a foundation ability that allows you to use other techniques through it.
Yorozu’s Curse Technique
The other thing is Yorozu’s curse technique here, and it kind of explains it. So, Yorozu, from nowhere, starts to throw a tantrum at Sukuna and gets serious because the fact that Sukuna is trying to defeat her without even using his full potential or without using the Shrine is unaccepted by her.
We find out that Yorozu’s Curse Technique is the “Construction or Architecture Technique,” with the help of which, Yorozu has built numerous weapons and became a veteran sorcerer. So, that is fascinating; I know a lot of you might be thinking, Construction? That’s Mai’s technique, like Maki’s sister, but it is different! I don’t know if it’s one for one the same thing which would mean that Yorozu was like a Zenin or something or somehow related to one of Maki or Mai’s parents. I don’t know; there is something different possible because this is far superior.
Yorozu can only create curse tools, whereas I guess Mai could make anything, but Yorozu is like going to the next level as well because she has this liquidy material that she can manipulate; it was almost like blood manipulation, and it looks like she is using just the blood manipulation, but she is not, it is like this material that she can manipulate as if it was blood but also make her’s tools out of it.
It is like two curse techniques in one; it is very unbelievable butt at the same time; it is very similar to the Overhaul Quirk from the My Hero Academia, but after that, Yorizu takes on a new form, a flesh armor that only diverts but also specialized numerous biological functions, to counter her attack Sukuna starts summoning Maharaga.
Oh my god! I can’t believe it is already happening. So she creates a new armor here, and she looks like some kind of buff locust or something, and it has the similar wings that we saw she sprouted when she first took over Tsumiki and flew away to Sendai Colony, but now she has completely changed, some kind of locust-like insect, fused with the true form of Mahito, that is what she kind of looks like, and Sukuna I guess realizes this as well.
Sukuna Summoning Maharaga
This is when Sukuna realizes the true powers of Yorozu and thinks that this is not a joke, and gets freaked out and starts summoning Maharaga. First of all, we speculated about this, and yeah, he is doing it, and I cannot believe what is going to happen and what it is going to be.
I guess Sukuna using the Ten Shadows doesn’t guarantee that everything will be Kaiju, right? Because we saw Divine Dogs were more like the Hellsing Alucard Dogs, as were new Kaiju would mean that Maharaga is going to be a Kaiju, or he is going to be something different. Is he going to be like the ultra-powerful in a different way than we are not expecting?

Either way, it seems like Sukuna knows that Yorozu is so strong that he has to summon Maharaga against her, or he is kind of like, “Let’s just have fun” this is little overkill; maybe I don’t need it. I don’t know, but obviously, they do have a history; I guess Yorozu knows the truth about Sukuna and has fought Sukuna before.
This means that it was probably fully powered Sukuna, So Yorozu is no slouch herself, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she is one of the strongest sorcerers to live with this point. Still, I am sure we will see more on her level on Sukuna’s level, but I am so unbelievably excited for these guys.
