Are you guys excited about the release of the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 216? Well, we are here for you!! After an amazing chapter, where we got to know that Maki is still alive and not only that she is even more powerful than before, fans of the series are really excited to know what is going to happen next in the series, as although Maki is alive but now she got freezer by Uraume.
There is a lot to talk about in this chapter, but first congratulations to Gege Akutami for reaching its 5th year anniversary for Jujutsu Kaisen, in celebration we get a really nice cover page, of Yuuji and Uta wearing suits, there is actually a theory suggesting on why Yuuji is carrying a flower bouquet, specifically wild roses.
Before jumping into the release date of the upcoming chapter, let us first take a look at what previously happened in the previous chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, and then we will also discuss where you can read the same online.
The chapter opens up with the color spread of a fish-like crisper flying all over the city, now we learned that Uraume is riding alongside the fish curse, implied by the dialogue between them and Kenjaku.
I think Kenjaku is also with Uraume here, meaning in the Culling Game because it looks like both of them are inside the stomach of the fish, which you can say by the same background draws and seeing a little peephole of the city, so yeah, unless this is an obvious thing because we didn’t see Kenjaku at the end of the chapter, we only see Uraume, but I guess he should be near the area nonetheless and meetup with Sukuna soon.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 215 Recap
The next of the manga continues from where we left off last week, where Yuuji landed a clean blow on Sukuna thanks to Megumi reducing his cursed energy output. Now Sukuna is saying that at its worst, he will only have 10 percent of his overall power, that is a crazy thing to think about because we know that Megumi was decreasing his output but to an extent where Sukuna gives a low bar of 10 percent then it means Sukuna is somewhere near that low range right now, which is how Yuuji was able to tank most of his attacks.
However, that also does not disregard what Yuuji has gotten. We have to keep in mind that Sukuna has been in Yuuji’s body he knows, he quite literally has seen Yuuji’s strength from a front-row perspective. When Yuuji lost the fight against Choso and Shibuya, Sukuna says something like how could he lose against such an inferior opponent.
He has watched that fight and every other of Yuuji’s fights from within him, so having known the capabilities of Yuuji’s power but then questioning “where did this increase in strength come from” in the last chapter, it is no doubt that received some sort of power growth development, which I am sure will be more explored in the later chapter, but Sukuna is confident that he can beat Yuuji even with his decrease in power.
However, Maki arrives at the scene without Sukuna sensing her presence earlier and he notices that there is no damage on Maki from the Nue attack, realizing that this person is very strong. So there we go, Maki survived the Reign of Light, striking down, I am not sure if she was able to find the perfect cover or just dodged every lighting strike, I mean we know she can outmaneuver mark 3 speed but lighting renders at a much faster speed, so to be honest Maki was not gonna die from that anyways.
I assume that Takaba is okay too, this is more headcanon, but Takaba can’t get hurt by any attacks, it goes along with his curse technique of how red as in blood is taboo, so therefore Takaba could never bleed. For example, when Hazenoki bombed Takaba straight up, it showed him gushing out a lot of blood at first, but then the blood instantly healed up on the next page, which Takaba said himself that he took “Zero Damage”.
Yuuji and Maki start double-teaming with Sukuna and Maki doe surprisingly well, I know Sukuna is heavily nerfed by Megumi fighting within, but I am just impressed in general that you know Maki has the confidence and the will to challenge Sukuna close quarters.
She then does a big power move and pushes Sukuna hard into that railing which Yuuji combos by entangling Sukuna into them allowing Maki to land a powerful kick. Now Sukuna does say Yuuji is boring and dull when he entangles him with the railing and that unimpressed reaction by Sukuna is a common thing that happens in this chapter.
Maki says about what Yuuji had said earlier that if you try to kill Sukuna he is still not gonna die, so she wonders if her Sould Liberation Blade, a blade that can kill an opponent in one swing, could kill Sukuna or if could Sukuna heal from its wounds using his reverse curse technique, Now that I think about it, I don’t think it can kill Sukuna because we know the blade that just cuts through the soul, meaning it can cleanly slash through the body, but unlike Idle Transfiguration that actually changes the shape of one’s soul and body, so it is something that the reverse cursed technique can’t heal as shown couple times in the story.
However, since the Soul Liberation Blade technically enhances the damage of its cut, not changing the soul in any way then I believe Sukuna who is shown to have an advanced type of reverse curse technique someone who accidentally healed Yuuji’s had when defending the attack from the Finger Bearer occurs. That in itself at least showed the reverse curse technique is natural to Sukuna’s ability, so maybe he can instantly heal a cut from the Soul Liberation Blade, but that might vary depending on how clean the cut Maki gets.
Maki suggests that if they want to capture Sukuna then it might involve killing him, so I guess that means Yuuji and Maki weren’t really trying as much before because they know Megumi is inside him, so they don’t want to kill Megumi either, but let’s be honest, it is the kind of curse, even if they did try they probably couldn’t kill him anyways, though Yuuji agrees to kill Sukuna if it comes down to it, which is quite surprising to hear and I think this answer form Yuuji alone, should tell you that he is definitely gone through some sort of mentality change.
Unlike Shibuya where he is broken down and felt hopeless about his action, now I mean he is still broken here, but he is also able to swallow that pain and suffering right away and face the consequences in front of him, by using his rage to fuel his awakening power.
I don’t think Shibuya Yuuji would have the same or said the same here, so when you consider this and the last chapter, it is very evident that Yuuji is going through a conventional power growth development, but MAki says that they are gonna speed up the tempo of this fight and then we get an amazing 2V1 sequence of Yuuji and Maki fighting Sakuna, technically 3V1 since Megumi is also reducing Sukuna’s strength and I love this panel of Maki and Sukuna rushing at each other and Yuuji kind of lunging himself from behind.
In the back of my mind, I was thinking that yeah, this has the potential to be animated so well, I think it is called Sakuga Animation, but like remember when Yuuji and Todo fought Hanami in the anime, both of them were climbing along the branches in mid-air, and just that animation, it was so fluid and quick, that was not really shown in the manga, MAPPA kind of added on to that sequence or you know when Yuuji and Nobara fought the Cursed Brother, again the same thing, the animation, and the camera work it was just very quick and fluid.
