The brand new talk show starring Sherri Shepherd will soon air its 35th episode. With iconic shows such as those hosted by Wendy Williams and Ellen now off our televisions, it was high time another one with similar energy would try to take up their places, and knowing Sherri, the former “The View” star’s legacy as a host, it could very well be possible.
Sherri first started airing on September 12th, 2022. It was announced a few months prior and was to be produced by the same team that was behind the production of The Wendy Williams Show. After fourteen seasons of entertainment, the series had to be canceled due to Wendy’s health issues and contract agreements.
While it’s not confirmed yet if Wendy will be appearing on Sherri, the show has seen a wide range of famous celebs like Danny DeVito, Nicole Scherzinger, Tyra Banks, and even the Divorce Court judge, Star Jones. With such interesting guests being interviewed, Sherri is sure to be an enjoyable Daytime talk show.
Sherri Shepherd: The Emmy Award-Winning Host
The actress, comedian, host, as well as and author Sherri Shepherd is no new face on the television platform. She has been a part of multiple projects ranging from daily soaps to top-rated talk shows and movies and has also had her show for some time. Her career began with the show “Cleghorne!” but after it was abruptly canceled, she recalls being homeless and broke for some time.
It was not until the 1996-the 2000s that she found a permanent place in many sitcoms, such as The Jamie Foxx Show, Everybody Loves Raymond and even a rerelease version of the movie Transformers. Sherri had her show in the year 2009, but it only lasted for three months. It was based on her own life after her husband split and how she rose to fame with patience and hard work.
She began her talk show career in the year 2007 as a permanent co-host on “The View.” Though she was involved in many controversies due to her blunt and often impulsive words, Her cheerful and funny personality attracted multiple Emmy award nominations and also a win in 2009.
The Wendy Williams show was halted for some time due to Wendy Williams’ medical reasons, and for a short time, Sherri Shepherd became the host of the show. Now that Wendy’s return is uncertain, the creators decided to make Sherri a permanent host of her show. Sherri doesn’t like being compared to other popular hosts and just wants to host the show with her true personality.
