Palworld Trading Card Game Surpasses 3.5 Million Pre-Ordered Booster Packs Ahead of Global Launch

The upcoming Palworld Trading Card Game (TCG) has achieved a major milestone before its official release, with more than 3.5 million booster packs sold through pre-orders worldwide. The strong demand has already exhausted stock at several retailers, highlighting the growing popularity of the Palworld franchise beyond its video game origins.

Originally launched as an early access survival game in January 2024, Palworld has continued to expand its player base. The success of its recently released Version 1.0 update appears to have carried over into the physical card game, making it one of the most anticipated new TCG launches of 2026.

Palworld TCG Sees Massive Demand Before Release

The Palworld TCG has surpassed 3.5 million booster packs sold ahead of its July 30 launch. Retailers including The Card Vault and Unicorn Cards have already listed several pre-order products as sold out, reflecting strong consumer interest before the first set officially reaches store shelves.

The debut expansion, Dawn of Palpagos, introduces players to a two-player competitive card game where they build decks featuring different Pals, gather resources, and construct structures to outplay opponents. The gameplay takes inspiration from the survival and crafting mechanics that helped the original video game gain worldwide attention.

The card game’s strong launch follows the release of Palworld Version 1.0, which introduced a complete story overhaul, a new sky island region, and dozens of additional Pals. The update significantly boosted player activity, helping renew interest in the franchise as it prepares to expand into tabletop gaming.

Pocketpair has also confirmed that the TCG is planned as a long-term product. Following Dawn of Palpagos, a second expansion titled Legends Awaken is scheduled to launch on October 30, signaling continued support for the game.

Despite Pocketpair’s ongoing legal dispute with Nintendo over certain patent claims, the popularity of Palworld has remained strong. The impressive pre-launch sales suggest the franchise has successfully translated its creature-collecting appeal into the trading card market and could become a significant new competitor in the genre.
