Palworld has achieved another major milestone on Steam following the launch of its long-awaited Version 1.0 update. More than two years after its Early Access debut, Pocketpair’s survival RPG has surged past 722,000 concurrent players on Steam, placing the game’s full release among the platform’s highest-ever peak player counts.

According to SteamDB, Palworld Version 1.0 has climbed to a peak of 722,279 concurrent players on Steam during its launch weekend, placing the game’s full release among the platform’s top 15 highest concurrent player peaks of all time. The milestone means Palworld now appears twice in Steam’s all-time concurrent player rankings—once for its original Early Access launch and again for its Version 1.0 release.

Palworld’s Full Release Becomes One of Steam’s Biggest Relaunches

When Palworld originally launched in Early Access in January 2024, it became one of Steam’s biggest success stories, reaching more than 2.1 million concurrent players and currently remaining among the platform’s highest peaks of all time.

While Version 1.0 has not matched that historic launch, its current performance is remarkable for a full-release update. With more than 722,000 concurrent players, the game has entered Steam’s all-time peak player rankings once again, making it one of the few titles to achieve massive player counts during both its Early Access launch and official release.

The surge follows Pocketpair’s largest update yet, combining all previous content additions with new gameplay features introduced alongside the 1.0 release. Before launch, the developer reportedly expected far lower numbers, with the game averaging roughly 35,000 concurrent players prior to the update.

Strong Community Support Continues After Early Access

Unlike many modern multiplayer releases, Palworld has continued receiving major updates without adopting seasonal battle passes or a traditional live-service model. Pocketpair has consistently described the game as a regularly updated premium title rather than an ongoing live-service experience.

Another factor behind the successful relaunch is that existing owners received the 1.0 update without needing to repurchase the game, while Pocketpair also chose not to increase the game’s retail price after leaving Early Access.

Although many of the concurrent players already owned Palworld, the renewed interest demonstrates the game’s lasting popularity. With its official launch now placing it among Steam’s biggest releases once again, Palworld has achieved a feat rarely seen on the platform, proving that its full release has resonated with both returning players and newcomers alike.
