Orient anime, adapted from the manga of the same name, was written and illustrated by Shinobu Ohtaka. She is a well-known Mangaka for making projects, like Magi and Magi: The Adventures of Sinbad. The anime is set during the fictional Sengoku period. The people living in Hinomoto country are said to be freed from the rule of feudal lords. When some demons suddenly descended upon the country and took over as their gods. These demons are mysterious supernatural beings, called Oni. Their main dietary regime is eating crystals and minerals. Bushi, the group of warriors, was the only one fighting against these Oni, to free the country from their rule. The war between Oni and Bushi warriors is ongoing for 150 years.
Now in the Present Time, the Country is divided into the people who believe that Oni is their god. And the people who fight for its independence from Oni. The Bushi warriors are treated Inhumanly and are bullied by Oni worshipers. But our protagonist, Musashi doesn’t support this discrimination.

Initial Plot and key characters
After Musashi and Kojirou set out to become the greatest Bushi, they come across the first hurdle of their journey. While hunting for fish, Kojirou is attacked by a suspicious girl, and later lures Musashi into her trap. She eventually uses seductive techniques when her attack doesn’t seem to work on him, which also doesn’t work. But after some hiccups here and there, they eventually all start their journey together as a group of Bushi.

They later went on for the trial of obtaining weapons for defeating the demon. Because to defeat them, only a certain type of material-made weapon called Kitetsu blade can be used. This trial includes holding the kitetsu Blade and letting it fuse and accept you. It emits 5 soul colors, blue being the average and red being the rarest. The trail was essentially passed by Kojirou, he emitted the color blue. But Musashi was having trouble as he felt some strange supernatural force inside him. It was revealed later that it was the Obsidian force of a female.

It had a connection with Musashi’s past and Kojirou’s dad, with whom Musashi shares a past trauma. Later, the woman who organized the trial, says to Musashi that he is not fit for operating the weapon. Because he was emitting the black color on his soul, meaning that no kitetsu blade will accept him. That he should give up on the dream of becoming a Bushi.
The Realization of Being Powerless
Musashi realizes he cannot hunt demons anymore and suddenly at that moment, a new kishin appears and attacks him. But Kojirou saves him and later along with all other Bushi present at the trail event, they head towards the Kishin. Then, Musashi appears before Shiro, who tells him that if he wants to become stronger, then he must become Kitetsu Blade himself. He realizes the danger and refuses to become a sword because he wants to be with his friends. Even if it means he would be weak, he will support his friends no matter what the situation.

After thinking about what he said, Shirou decides to push Musashi into a pit that he made with his swords and also turn his friends into the sword as well. While falling into the pit, he had a conversation with the obsidian force about his past. Then later Nanao, an acquaintance of Shirou, decides to pull Musashi out of the pit. But she is surprised to see that he is still alive and has now turned into a black stone. After recalling the incidents that happened, he heads up to his friends to help them defeat the kishin.

Musashi and his friends fight the kishin and face Nanao, but they are defeated. Now Shirou decides to fight with his unique sword moves. He can transform the area where everyone is standing Upside down. Then everyone starts falling and Musashi is helping everyone and at that moment, time stops. And the Obsidian force appears before him and understands his resolve to help others.
The Ending and Review
The Obsidian force or goddess decides to give her powers to him while demonstrating how to use them. She fights Shirou and easily defeats him, but he successfully escapes. later She tells him that she would not be able to come again like this. As she will be going to sleep. Also tells him that, she does not have time to clear his every doubt and question, including about Kojirou’s dad.

Overall the Anime was very gripping and exciting. Especially the last four episodes where the narration of the story changes entirely. According to Magi anime fans, the expectations were not fulfilled properly, but that’s just bias. The problem with this anime was firstly its pace, which according to manga was very slow. Eventually, it was a good take on supernatural elements.
What will happen in Orient Anime Season 2?
The confirmation was made regarding the anime that, “The Awaji Island Recapture Operation” Arc will be adapted. The story will progress from where it ended in season one when they arrive at Harima Port. This will also be where they can find answers about Jisai, Kojirou’s father. Cause they have his scroll on him, which contains some information on Kishin. And also according to Tsugumi, on the scroll, its seal states that it belongs to Uesugi Alliance. The band then agrees to meet this Alliance and find the truth.

The official Twitter account of Orient PR announced the upcoming anime event happening in June. The event name is, “Orient Thanksgiving 2022 Summer”. Orient Anime Season 2 Release date
The anime is confirmed for the summer lineup of 2022. While there is not exactly an announcement about the official date it will Air. But there are indications that the first Episode of Orient Anime Season 2 can either premiere on July 6 or July 13.
