The Winter quarter for anime releases comes to an end with the beginning of the month of April, wherein the sun shines a little brighter welcoming Spring. Thus, anime fans have been excited for the Spring season quarter for anime releases. Since the lockdown started, there has been an increase in the number of anime watchers around the globe. Not only this but even many ott platforms have been in demand for releasing more anime content. Netflix is a go-to platform for many anime watchers besides Crunchyroll and Funimation.

Netflix has been coming out with new anime almost every month and thus, the month of April will have new releases on the platform. Not only this but some of the most loved anime will be getting new seasons in the spring quarter. Scroll down to see if your favorite anime will be coming out on Netflix in the month of April.

Tiger and Bunny

The action and adventure-comedy anime, Tiger and Bunny, will have its second season released on 8th April. The setting of the story, Stern Bild City, is a fictionalized New York City wherein individuals are known as NEXT possess superpowers. These individuals work for famous companies and are broadcasted on Hero TV, which in turn provides them with points for a living. The main protagonists, the hero Wild Tiger, aka, Kotetsu Kaburagi, and his new partner Barnaby Brooks Jr. possess similar powers. Together, they try to get along as well as solve the mystery behind the latter’s parents’ murder.

The anime series is produced by Sunrise Inc. It will be returning to screens after many years and so has been anticipated by fans. Not only this but the cast will be returning too, with Masakazu Morita voicing Barnaby and Hiraoki Hirata voicing Wild Tiger. Other voice acting cast include Kenjiro Tsuda, Minako Kotobuki and Taiten Kusunoki.

Ultraman

The Second Season of Ultraman will be coming out on the 14th of April. Ultraman introduces us to a world where mecha robots fight evil creatures. It tells us the story of Ultraman, an extraterrestrial robot-like being that saved the world about 50 years ago. The human host of this mecha, Hayata Shin, does not remember his heroism. However, his son, Shinjiro begins showing superhuman strength too and takes in his father’s footsteps of being the next Ultraman. The Ultraman series, thus, introduces us to many compelling storylines. It doesn’t only focus on the story of Shinjiro, but gives us many protagonists of the different Ultramen that fight to save Earth.

Ultraman’s season 2 will have most of the cast from season 1 returning. The main character Shinjiro will be voiced by Ryohei Kimura. Other cast members include Takuya Eguchi, Megumi Han, Ryota Takeuchi, Hiroaki Hirata as well as Kenjiro Tsuda.

Pacific Rim Second Season

Another anticipated second season is for the anime Pacific Rim. Pacific Rim: The Black will be coming out on April 19th on Netflix. Like the previous anime, this anime falls under the mecha anime genre. Pacific Rim has had live-action films before and has gained more popularity with its anime release. The second season will be the concluding season for the anime. It tells us the story of an Australia that is ruled over by giant monsters. Since many people have failed to fight these monsters, Australia has few survivors. Among these live the siblings Haley and Taylor Travis, whose parents never returned from fighting these monsters. Years later, after activating a Jaeger called Atlas Destroyer, a robot used for fighting the monsters, the siblings set out to look for their parents.

The anime is created by Greg Johnson and Craig Kyle and is produced by the studio Polygon Pictures. The cast include Yusuke Kobayashi, Yui Shimodaya and Iku Minase.

Bubble

Releasing on April 28th is the most anticipated anime film called “Bubble”. It is a story that introduces us to a gravity-defying world in Japan, where there are heavy objects floating in the sky. Although this seems to be a very dystopian setting, the people of Japan, who have been cut off from the rest of the world, indulge in parkour games that turn into competitions. The main protagonist, Hibiki has exceptional talent when it comes to his skills however, he was almost going to die as he slipped. This is when things get interesting, as he is saved by a mysterious girl named Uta.

The anime film is created by Wit Studio and is directed by Tetsurou Araki. The anime has an exciting theme song named “Bubble feat. Uta” performed by Eve. Riria, the voice actress of the character Uta will be singing the ending song called “See you later”. The main character, Hibiki will be voiced by Jun Shison and Uta will be voiced by Riria. Other voice acting cast include, Miyano Mamoru, Alice Hirose, Yuki Kaji, Tasuku Hatanaka, Marina Inoue, Sayaka Senbongi and Shinichiro Miki.

Spy x Family

Although not worldwide, Spy x Family is a series that will be released in certain Asian on April 9th. Adapted from a manga series by Tatsuya Endo, it tells us an interesting story of an extraordinary family that includes a spy, a mind reader, and an assassin. In the family, the aforementioned 3 are the father, child, and mother, respectively. Thus, fans have been anticipating what it will bring to the table.

The anime series has been adapted by Wit Studio as well as CloverWorks. As for the cast, Takuya Eguchi, Saori Hayami, and Atsumi Tanezaki will take on the voices of the main characters.
