Nintendo Download: ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition and Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Lead This Week’s Releases

Nintendo has revealed its latest Nintendo Download lineup, with two major releases leading the week’s updates. ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition is preparing to bring FromSoftware’s acclaimed action RPG to Nintendo Switch 2, while METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2 will expand Konami’s classic stealth franchise across both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

The update also includes a new Donkey Kong Bananza limited-time event, additions to Nintendo Music, weekly Nintendo eShop sales, and a wide range of new games arriving across both Nintendo systems. While Nintendo Switch 2 owners are receiving titles such as 1000xRESIST – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, DayZ: Cool Edition, and Wobbly Life – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, the original Nintendo Switch continues to receive several new releases throughout the week.

With ELDEN RING, Metal Gear Solid, Donkey Kong, and Mario Kart all featured in the latest Nintendo Download, the update offers something for fans of major franchises as well as players searching for smaller eShop releases.

ELDEN RING and Metal Gear Solid Lead Nintendo’s Latest Download

ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, with pre-orders now available through Nintendo eShop. The release includes the original award-winning action RPG and the SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE expansion, along with new weapons, armor, and a new appearance customization option for Torrent.

The game takes players into the Lands Between, where they can explore dangerous dungeons, battle powerful enemies, and uncover the dark fantasy world created by FromSoftware. Its arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 marks one of the biggest third-party RPG releases currently scheduled for the system.

Konami’s METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol. 2 is also now available for pre-order ahead of its August 27 launch on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The collection includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, giving players more opportunities to experience the long-running stealth action franchise on Nintendo platforms.

Nintendo Music is receiving new Free Roam playlists featuring music from Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World. The update adds more tracks for fans of Mario Kart World, offering two new playlists designed around the exploration-focused Free Roam experience.

Meanwhile, Donkey Kong Bananza: DK Island & Emerald Rush is getting a new limited-time event called Lagoon Dash. Running from August 25 through September 1, the event allows players to complete challenges across Lagoon Layer and collect statues of Zebra Bananza and Winky.

Nintendo is also continuing its broader DK Challenge until September 1. Nintendo Switch 2 players with an active Nintendo Switch Online membership can complete challenges in Donkey Kong Bananza and several classic Donkey Kong games to earn digital Challenge Cards. Eligible players in the U.S. who complete every challenge can also receive a collectible 39-card set with a card case.

The Nintendo Switch 2 eShop lineup includes 1000xRESIST – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Arcade Archives 2 PINBALL ACTION, Arcade Archives 2 V’BALL, DayZ: Cool Edition, Funguys Swarm, Grim Trials, Ground Zero Hero, and Wobbly Life – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Nintendo Switch players can also look forward to a packed week of releases, including Aerialia: Wings of Delivery, Arcade Archives V’BALL, Ascent DX, Berry Bury Berry, Dark Reflection, Dino Hex Trap, Driving is Hard, Fractured Worlds, Grayland Remastered, Grim Trials, Increbraintal, Kaboomania, Kero Kero Cowboy, Mega City Force, OVER REQUIEMZ, Project Neon, Puppergeist, Smithsonian: Digging For Dinosaurs, and Toy Tactics.

The latest Nintendo Download update also includes weekly Nintendo eShop deals, giving Switch and Switch 2 owners another opportunity to explore discounted digital games alongside the newest releases.
