Moon Knight Season 1 Episode 4 Recap
In the fourth episode of Moon Knight, Steven and Layla continue their search for Ammit’s tomb and try to get there before Harrow could. Marc continues to hide a number of things from Layla, and now even Steven is reluctant to give their body to Marc. The duo reaches the location, but it seems like Harrow and his men have already made their marc.
Steven and Layla hurry, and amidst this, they grow closer and even lock a kiss. Steven confesses that Khonshu aims for her to be his next avatar, and that’s why Marc has been pushing her away. Layla appreciates Steven’s honesty but is disappointed in Marc. The duo goes inside to find that the structure they are in is like the Eye of Horus. They see bullet shells and hear gunshots. Probably, Harrow’s men are fighting something.
It was a matter of time before they come across an undead mummy who seems to be capturing Harrow’s men. On the run from the same mummy, Layla and Steven go on different paths. Layla manages to kill the undead mummy and soon comes face to face with Harrow. With both of them alone, Harrow decides to tell Layla about her parent’s death. He told her that mercenaries killed them and Marc was one of those mercenaries. He might have not killed them, but he was there for sure, watching the whole thing.
Meanwhile, Steven continues to crack the mystery of Ammit’s tomb. Soon he comes across the lost tomb of Alexander The Great, the voice of Ammit. This saw him retrieving the Ushabti of Ammit from the throat of Alexander The Great. Layla reunited with Steven and confronted Marc. But there was no time she had to go. Harrow and his men made their way to shoot Marc to death.
Next moment, we see Marc in a psychiatric facility with all the people he knows. He finds himself confused and coming across Harrow as the professor there reminds him of everything. Luckily he manages to find Steven trapped inside an Egyptian coffin. They try to find a way out and cross paths with Tawaret.

Moon Knight Season 1 Episode 4 Review
Moon Knight Season 1 Episode 4 brings the vibes of Indian Jones, Tomb Raider & The Mummy Returns altogether with a twist in the end that leaves you thinking. On top of that, Marvel once again manages to cross their story-telling with folklore and the history of the world, which is quite intriguing to watch.
The involvement of Aaron Moorhead & Justin Benson in the direction gives all the horror vibes needed. Especially during the sequence of the undead mummy that comes attacking Steven and Layla.
Before we get to the talked-about ending, the first half of the episode saw the falling of Layla and Marc’s relationship. It seems like Layla has found herself more romantically involved with the character of Steven, thanks to his honesty. Similarly, it’s the polar opposite to that of Marc, who has kept her in the dark most of the time. Still, despite keeping away her parents death from her, Layla really felt Marc’s death when Harrow shot him.
So, there was nothing much special during the run of Moon Knight’s fourth episode. The race to Ammit’s Tomb continued. The twist actually came in the final few minutes of the episode. The one that saw a complete shift in the scenario with Marc traveling to a world that doesn’t seem real.
So theories here suggest he might be inside his own mind. After all, he was able to meet Steven in person. There was another Egyptian Coffin that may suggest Jake Lockley is inside of it. We already had hints of Jake’s existence in the previous few episodes. If not Marc’s mind, then referring to comics, we can suggest that it’s Othervoid. A prison for old Egyptian gods located outside of time and space.
After taking a look at that ending, we can say that Moon Knight has just managed to level up from the previous episode, which we thought was the best so far, but no Episode 4 takes the cue now. Also, there are hardly any flaws we can point out yet. So we wonder what Episode 5 of Moon Knight has in its store.
