Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece are often said together as one of the best anime shows of all time. We will be focusing on Bleach and how our main protagonist of the show; Ichigo Kurosaki, is related to Uryu Ishida. Ichigo Kurosaki and Uryu Ishida are two of the main characters in the series “Bleach”. Despite their completely different backgrounds and upbringings, and personalities, these two manage to help each other and work as a team to defeat their common foes.
Ichigo is a high school student who can be able to see spirits. He is a courageous individual who isn’t afraid of anything and is always ready to jump into combat at any given point in time. This trait that Ichigo has is completely contrasting with that of Uryu.
Uryu Ishida is a Quincy, a member of a race who has the power to use their spiritual ability to fight their enemies. Uryu battles with his identity as a Quincy and the long-standing rivalry between both the Quincy and Soul Reaper families throughout the whole series. Uryu is really coherent and secretive when it comes to combat. He is much more inclined towards building a strategic plan and then taking action.
Uryu and Ichigo had completely different upbringings. Uryu was the last heir to the Quincy family, who had the power to defeat hollows. He was raised by his grandfather, who looked up to him as his role model because his father didn’t have a good emotional connection with him when he was a kid. Meanwhile, Ichigo was brought up by his parents and had two siblings and came from a loving and supportive family background.

How are Ichigo and Uryu Related?
Uryu first saw Ichigo as a mere rival, someone he thought he could prove his skills against. But that soon changed during the course of the challenge. Ichigo suggested that working together was the better way to deal with the Hollows. Uryu was reluctant, but fighting the Hollows together was what created the initial bond between these two.
Uryu is an old-school shonen rival: Ichigo’s counterpart and one of his greatest friends. They push each other to excel. They may bicker or fight every now and then, but they trust each other closely.
Ichigo and Uryu are bound together regardless of their disparities because of their common determination to protect their nearest and dearest. One of the main reasons for their friendship to remain consistent is the respect for their skills and abilities that they two have for each other.
This partnership reminds us that companionship can overcome any difficulty and acts as a motivation. Ichigo and Uryu’s connection is one worth witnessing and experiencing, whether you are a “Bleach” fan or just seeking a touching story of friendship.
Are Ichigo And Uryu Blood Related?
As far as the relationship between Ichigo and Uryu is concerned, Ichigo’s mother, Masaki, wanted to carry on Quincy’s pure blood, so she was going to marry Uryu’s father, Ryuken.
But because when Masaki was in high school, a strange hollow attacked her, but she was successful in defeating it, leaving only a small wound because of the damage. That small wound had affected her in such a way that the hollow managed to get into her soul and impure it.
Understanding Masaki’s past, the Ishida family decided to break the marriage, and this is the reason why Masaki then went on to marry Ichigo’s father, whose surname was Kurosaki. Around this time, even Uryu’s father decided to marry a mixed-blood Quincy and had Uryu as their son.
Through this, we get a fair understanding that Ichigo and Uryu are not blood-related directly, but they, in fact, are far closer than we think they are. They are only two people with contrasting powers and originally opposing objectives that exist in the same series.
