Candy, the latest Hulu series chronicling the gruesome murder of Betty Gore at the hands of Candy Montgomery in central Texas in 1980, dropped on the platform on May 9. Today, we will explain how to watch Candy Series on Hulu. Firstly, this is one of two rival productions that have their take on this crime. HBO produces the other.
Candy tells a harrowing story at a slow-burn pace. Judging from the first episode, we can tell that it’s beautifully produced. The photography and the acting are amazing, and Jessica Biel’s role is simply impeccable here. We’ll have to wait as the rest of the story unfolds. But now, without further ado, let’s check out the series.
What Is Candy?
Candy is based on the true story of Candy Montgomery, a native Texan, devout Christian, mother, and homemaker who murdered one of her neighbors with an ax in the Dallas suburbs in the summer of 1980. Betty Gore, a friend of Candy’s and a schoolteacher, was murdered. After being suppressed by the suffocating suburbs and all their demands. Candy begins an affair with Betty’s husband, Allan Gore, and Betty ultimately finds out. All of this culminated in Candy and Betty’s violent confrontation, which resulted in Betty’s death.
Candy claimed during her trial that she killed Betty in self-defense when Betty confronted her about the affair and attacked her with an ax. Candy then claimed she killed Betty with the same ax to save herself and was declared not guilty. The new series will consider Candy’s point of view while also allowing viewers to judge whether she is a good storyteller or not.
