FBI Season 4 Episode 21 Recap
A retired DEA Special Agent, Thomas Webber, was assassinated outside of a bakery. Webber was a decent man. A competent agent. He retired as soon as his pension became available. He hardly had time to enjoy it before he was murdered in broad sight, and no one saw anything that could assist.
The shooter, according to witnesses, was wearing a mask. He likewise vanished before they could determine which direction he had left in. However, the FBI agent in charge of the case was unsure whether Webber’s murder had anything to do with his previous issues or his current line of work. Webber was employed as a bouncer. He worked at the “Show Palace” strip joint.
The Night Before
The night before Webber was killed, there was an altercation at the strip club. Webber was obliged to evict a man who became hostile with one of the girls and claimed to be her boyfriend. Webber continued to show this man the door. The FBI obtained video of the incident and went in search of the alleged boyfriend.
He was later identified as Rafer Boggs. Boggs attempted to flee when they introduced themselves as the FBI, so they were obliged to follow and hold him before discovering that Boggs had an alibi for the time of death. He couldn’t possibly be their gunman. As a result, the FBI concluded that Boggs had nothing to do with what occurred.
Knowledge
This was proven when a second murder occurred. A church janitor was shot and killed this time. The murder witness reported someone wearing a mask. The attacker used the same gun on both victims, tying the killings together. Only no one knew how the two victims were linked at first. A DEA agent and a bouncer were not on the same level. Jubal’s crew continued to seek any plausible link, eventually finding one. Both victims were scheduled to testify in a high-profile trial against LS-19. Webber was the case’s lead investigator, and he was expected to testify as such.
The Whodunnit
The janitor worked as a vehicle technician when he discovered a stash of drugs in an LS-19 car. He was also going to testify about it. Both men were about to testify against one of the gang’s senior bosses. Thus their killings had to be carried out to prevent that. Jubal had everyone involved in the case summoned and warned. They were all held in protective custody while the case was being handled. However, the FBI also needed to find the shooter. They were aware of who hired him. Kayla Marsh stepped in when they only needed access to his phone to confirm he took the job. Marsh had access to the phone since she worked with the suspect.
Culprit Found
Trey Cooper was later revealed as the actual gunman. He was another member of the LS-19. He also happened to be Marsh’s lover. She didn’t want him to know she was back on drugs because he disapproved of it—that guy’s boyfriend. Trey had been in close communication with their previous suspect.
