The season finales for Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchises are almost simultaneous, and it is the turn for Chicago Fire Season 10 with Episode 22, with the return of Lieutenant Matt Casey to the Fire squad, among other things. The emotional finale that Derek Haas and Michael Brandt have in store for us is also full of firefighter action as well!
Chicago’s Engine Company 51 has a lot going on lately, as well as Truck Company 81, as we will see there are a couple of plotlines that will have some closure in this episode recap and will have their final say in the next week’s show. But we’ll get to that later. For now, let’s take a look at what happened this week with Violet and Severide.
Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 21 Recap
Kidd, Severide’s fiancée, was fighting. Kidd had recently gotten her way when Gallo elected to stay on her squad instead of working directly under Severide. That made Kidd happy because she didn’t have to hunt for someone new. Severide is unhappy because he understands that he doesn’t quarrel with his fiancée. After all, she always gets her way. She did the same with Gallo. This is something she does at home. Kidd was always the one who had to win, and Severide was getting tired of it. He admitted it to her. They weren’t talking because he didn’t say anything else. That made it extremely awkward when they took a ride to work the following day.
It was still awkward when they had to work on the same scene. A fire involving a food truck and an ordinary car drew the attention of the entire station. The automobile and the passenger inside were unharmed. However, the driver of the vehicle refused to be treated. He didn’t say anything. He said it through his actions. And he kept trying to go to the car and grab whatever he was hauling out, and he nearly blew himself up along with the fireman who tracked him down. When they returned him to the ambulance, he also refused to rest. Also, Violet was so irritated with him that she threatened to intubate him if he didn’t relax.

Violet Gives Up
Violet eventually surrendered. She informed Gallo. Gallo wanted to help, so Violet informed him that Hawkins was in charge. But Gallo wasn’t content with simply accepting it. He visited Hawkins. Hawkins told him about his strategy after he questioned what he was doing. Emma came with high recommendations from a little town, according to Hawkins. He glanced through her files and saw that someone had written something before erasing it with a whiteout and writing “not applicable” on it. Hawkins was curious about Emma’s previous job. He was about to drive himself when Gallo promised to do it.
Gallo went to the small town. There, he spoke with the Fire Chief. He discovered that the municipality was not legally permitted to talk about prior members. Thus the guy couldn’t discuss Emma. When Gallo raised a question or even highlighted what Emma was doing today by blackmailing others, the chief said it was against policy to say anything. But whatever happened had to be horrible. Gallo returned to Chicago without any information. He couldn’t help, and Hawkins’ scheme fell through. Neither person understood what to do to keep Violet’s career safe. They could see Emma was trouble. And, for some reason, she was yearning for a permanent job in Chicago.
Severide
Violet received the dreadful news from Gallo. She was desperate at the time when she was summoned to a scene with Emma, and Emma chose to pose as her superior. Emma was making all of the phone calls. Emma even expressed gratitude. When Severide’s day took a turn for the worst, they slowly learned to tolerate each other. The food truck driver arrived at their station.
He needed assistance in locating his truck. Severide agreed to assist, but he had a feeling something was wrong, and his fears were confirmed when he discovered the car. It included many medication packs. The driver was a drug dealer, so he refused to listen to the EMTs and kept trying to run back to his truck. The driver later arrived and was arrested after attempting to pull a gun on Severide.
