1. Ghost Doctor
Released in January 2022, ‘Ghost Doctor’ is a comedy supernatural k-drama. Set up in a hospital, the k-drama introduces the concept of the ‘coma ghost’. Having a star cast, ‘Ghost Doctor’ stars ‘Please Come Back, Mister’ fame Rain, ‘Cinderella and the Four Knights’ fame Son Na Eun. Along with ‘Law School’ fame Kim Bum and ‘My Contracted Husband, Mr. Oh’ fame Uee. The story follows Cha Young Min, one of the best doctors in the country. Selfish and arrogant, Young Min has excellent surgery skills. But he gets into a coma because of an accident. And his soul is still not satisfied with the career he had.
Wandering in the hospital, his spirit possesses Seug Tak, who is also a doctor. Both doctors having the same profession have very different ambitions. While Young Min is ambitious and only cares about his career, Seung Tak has no wish to be in the medical field. The only reason he’s a doctor is that he is the grandson of the founder of Myung-shin hospital and the son of the Chairwoman of the hospital. As an ambitious soul takes over the unambitious one, things are bound to get messy. ‘Ghost Doctor’ is a must-watch if in need of watching some good bromance. 2. Through the Darkness
Another January 2022 release, ‘Through the Darkness’ is the k-drama adaptation of the autobiography of Korea’s first criminal profiler, Kwon Il Yong, and journalist-turned-author Ko Na Mu. The k-drama takes us through some of Kwon’s field experiences. ‘Through the Darkness’ stars ‘Queen Seon Duk’ fame Kim Nam Gil, ‘Ransom’ fame Jin Seon Kyu, and ‘Another Child’ fame Kim So Jin in the main roles. The story takes us in the 1990s as it follows the criminal named ‘Red Cap’. Known for stalking and killing women without any provocation. As the investigation goes on, the head of the Criminal Behavioral Analysis team, Gook Young Soo tries to use as many resources as he can.
He teams up with former detective Song Ha Young. He is known to be quiet, reserved, and incredibly perceptive. Young Soo goes on to experiment with the criminal profiler. The two detectives go through many doubts from within the office, including one from Homicide expert Yoon Tae Goo and her team. Having limited resources and chances to catch the serial killer, a lot of ups and downs are lined up for Ha Young. As all the cases are based on true events, ‘Through The Darkness’ takes the viewers on a quite chilly journey. 3. Sponsor
The February 2022 k-drama from MBN and Viki, ‘Sponsor’ is filled with thrillers and romance. ‘Sponsors’ stars Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung fame Lee Ji Hoon, ‘Bel Ami’ fame Han Chae Young, ‘When the Camellia Blooms’ fame Ji Yi Soo, and ‘The Secret Life of My Secretary’ fame Koo Ja Sung. The story follows the four men and women as they get connected to each other’s lives. We have Lee Sun Woo, a passionate and ambitious photographer and editor at a magazine. Han Chae Rin is a greedy and ambitious CEO of a cosmetics company.
Park Da Som a rising star actress torn between her career and motherhood. Last but not the least, Hyun Seung Hoon, Da Son’s husband, an aspiring model. Fighting their way to the top level in the highly competitive entertainment industry, the four end up together in compromising positions. ‘Sponsor’ has mixed reviews from the fans, and most of them have called it an average k-drama. If in the mood for watching something controversial and explicit, the k-drama sheds light on common adultery among famous people. With each episode having a runtime of 51 minutes, ‘Sponsor’ has a total of 12 episodes.

4. Military Prosecutor Doberman
Another February 2022 k-drama, ‘Military Prosecutor Doberman’ is a military k-drama that sheds a light on conspiracy within law and order. ‘Military Prosecutor Doberman’ stars ‘Yumi’s Cell’ fame Ahn Bo Hyun, ‘Tale of the Nine-Tailed’ Jo Bo Ah, ‘Bad Guy’ fame Oh Yeon Soo, ‘Scripting Your Destiny’ fame Kim Woo Seok, and ‘Hide and Seek’ fame Kim Young Min. The story follows two military prosecutors having different attitudes but eventually the same goal. We have Do Bae Man, who became a military prosecutor only to make more money and be successful. On the opposite, we have Cha Woo In, who joins Do Bae Man’s team and is aiming for recent from the authority.
As the two work together on the same case and get to know about each other, the truth begins to unfold. Having the same aim, i.e., revenge, the two help each other throughout the story to grow. The k-drama has its pros and cons. ‘Military Prosecutor Doberman’ follows “The children avenging parents’ death,” making it any other thriller cliche. The k-drama is a one-time watch with some amazing action scenes, along with adrenaline-filled OSTs. 5. Kill Heel
The March 2022 k-drama ‘Kill Heel’ focuses on three women in the world of ‘teleshopping’. Kill Heel stars ‘On The Way To The Airport’ fame Kim Ha Neul, ‘Lawless Layer’ fame Lee Hye Young, and ‘Are You, Human, Too?’ fame Kim Sung Ryung as the main leads. The story follows three women, Woo Hyun, Ki Mo Lan, and Bae Ok San, as they work in the same industry. Woo Hyun is the host of a home shopping show and aspires to become the top shopping show host. But as tragedy strikes, her dream is crushed with barely any chance of a comeback. Mo Lan is the vice-president of UNI Home Shopping. Climbing her way to the top, from being a regular employee to the VP, Mo Lan makes sure to make no mistakes.
Ok Sun is a top host at UNI Home Shopping. Coming from a rich family, Ok Sun isn’t what she is known for. With ‘Kill Heel’ casting older actresses as leads and focusing on teleshopping, viewers barely had any expectations. But once the episodes started airing, everyone was hooked to ‘Kill Heel’. According to one of the viewers, ‘Kill Heel’ captures many different personalities without straying away from how they originally were. With each episode having a runtime of 60 minutes, ‘Kill Heel’ has a total of 14 episodes.

6. A Superior Day
The OCN k-drama from March 2022 is the live-action adaptation of a webtoon and web novel named ‘A Superior Day’. The k-drama stars’ Descendants of the Sun’ fame Jin Goo, Musical actor and ‘Penthouse Trilogy’ fame Ma Du Gi, and ‘Longing for Spring’ fame Lee Won Keun as the main leads. The story follows Lee Ho Cheol, a regular firefighter. He is suffering from PTSD and has been on a break ever since he got attacked by a popular serial killer. Still struggling with his life and trying to get back to normal, Ho Cheol finds himself in a game of cat and mouse.
He’s informed by an unknown source that his neighbor Kwon Shi Woo is the serial killer of the run as Ho Cheol refuses to be a part of the game, the unknown source, i.e., a contract killer looking for the serial killer. Threatening Ho Cheol, the contract killer gives him 24 hours to help him find the serial killer. Being an OCN k-drama, fans had a lot of expectations from ‘A Superiors Day’. But unfortunately, it didn’t stand up to the standards of the majority of the audience. With each episode having a runtime of 60 minutes, ‘A Superior Day’ has a total of 8 episodes.

7. Again My Life
Out in April 2022, ‘Again My Life’ is the k-drama adaptation of the novel series of the same name. The k-drama star ‘Flower of Evil’ fame Lee Joon Gi, ‘Doctor Lawyer’ fame Lee Kyung Young, ‘Strangers From Hell’ fame Kim Ji Eun, and ‘Cheat On Me, If You Can’ fame Jung Sang Hoon. The story follows Kim Hee Won, a public prosecutor who worked hard his whole life to reach where he was. As he leads an investigation in a corruption case regarding an influential politician, he ends up getting killed by a mysterious man. But a miracle happens, Hee Won finds himself alive but at the university level.
Starting his journey over again, Hee Won tries to discover the truth about what happened to him in his previous life. And as he meets Kim Hee Ah, the youngest daughter of the family that owns the wealthy Cheonha business group, the two team up to find the truth. ‘Again My Life’ has everything from a strong plot development to a promising cast performance. Many viewers think that the k-drama should’ve been longer as they couldn’t get enough of it. With each episode having a runtime of 1 hour & 5 minutes, ‘Again My Life’ has a total of 16 episodes.

8. Sh**ting Stars
Released in April 2022, ‘Sh**ting Stars’ is a romantic comedy k-drama anticipated by many k-drama fans. ‘Sh**ting Stars’ stars ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo’ fame Lee Sung Kyung, ‘The Penthouse’ fame Kim Dae Young and Yoon Jong Hoon, ‘My Sassy Girl’ fame Lee Jung Shin, ‘Oh! Dear Half-Basement Goddesses’ fame Park So Jin, and ‘The Magic’ fame Kim Yoon Hye. The k-drama tries to shed light on what happens behind the scenes in the entertainment industry’s PR teams. The k-drama follows Oh Han Byul, leader of an entertainment agency’s PR team. Known for her media cleanups, one of her top clients is Gong Tae Sung, the most idealist celebrity ever.
But what goes behind the scenes is unknown. Han Byul and Tae Sung have known each other since high school and are sworn enemies. But working together, it doesn’t take long for their hate for each other to develop into feelings of love. Following the cliche enemies to lovers story troupe, the k-drama currently has the viewers wrapped around its finger with all lovey-dovey stuff. With each episode having a runtime of 60 minutes, ‘Sh**ting Stars’ has a total of 16 episodes.

9. From Now On, Showtime!
Another one of April 2022 releases, ‘From Now On, Showtime’ is a fantasy k-drama. ‘From Now On, Showtime!’ stars ‘Cheese In The Trap’ fame Park Hae Jin, ‘The Secret Life of My Secretary’ fame Jin Ki Joo, and ‘The Flower in Prison’ fame Jung Joon Ho. The story follows Cha Cha Woong, a popular stage and TV magician who thinks he’s better than others. The secret behind him being the best is his helping crew, which is a group of ghosts. Things were going alright until one day. Cha Woong came across Go Seul Hae, a police officer.
As she investigated his space, she realized that Cha Woong’s abilities could be a great help in solving crimes. As the two start working together, the flower of romance also starts to bloom between them. The k-drama will be coming to an end on June 12, 2022. But throughout the previous episodes, the k-drama shows an interesting journey. With each episode having a runtime of 1 hour & 13 minutes, ‘From Now On, Showtime’ has a total of 16 episodes.
