At the beginning of the year 2022, Yuehua Entertainment announced that they’d be introducing a new boy group. Releasing the promotional schedule, the company went on to announce their new boy group, TEMPEST. Keeping us under suspense, the company took a month to introduce the members of TEMPEST to use. The boys of TEMPEST went on to make their debut on March 2, 2022. Throughout January, Yuehua Entertainment went on to release introduction sketches along with solo posters of the boys. Keeping the fans on edge for a month, the time finally came.
After a teaser for the music video and the tracklist, TEMPEST went on to release Album Recording Sketch Film” for their upcoming debut mini-album “It’s ME, It’s WE”! On March 2, the boys of TEMPEST finally made their debut with the track “Bad News”. Sweeping fans with their debut album, the boy group went on to sell over 34,106 copies. Yuehua Entertainment’s rookie boy group TEMPEST is a seven-member boy group. TEMPEST consists of Lew, Hanbin, Eunchan, Hwarang, Taerae, Hyeongseop, and Hyuk. Here are a few things you need to know about the boys before making them your bias!!!
Lew
Hailing from Incheon, South Korea, Lew’s full name is Lew Eui Woong. Being an 01 liner, Lew’s birthday falls on April 5. He’s an alumnus of the infamous Hanlim Multi Art School. Serving as the leader of the boy group TEMPEST, Lew also serves as the lead rapper, vocalist, and composer of the boy group. In TEMPEST, his keyword is PRESENT. He went on to make his idol career public by appearing on the survival show Produce 101 S2 and ended up with a rank of 23. Before making his debut with TEMPEST in February 2022, Lew actually made his debut as a duo with Hyeongseop in 2017.
But unfortunately, the duo had to disband in 2021. He also appeared in the 2020 TV show Tok! Tok! Boni Hani. He played the role of Boni. Long before he became an idol trainee, Lew made an appearance as a civilian on the program ‘Hello Counselor‘. After that, Lew received idol casting offers from 11 different agencies. Taerae
Hailing from Gangseo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, Kim Tae Rae is known by his stage name Taerae. Being an 02 liner, Taerae’s birthday falls on May 9. As a part of the boy group TEMPEST, the idol serves as the rapper of the boy group. While Taerae is the maknae of TEMPEST, at home, he’s the hyung. Being an alumnus of Sehyeon High School, the idol has been an acting enthusiast since his school time. The idol used to be a part of the drama club at his school and was even known as the visual of the school. The idol started his career journey as a trainee of Yuehua Entertainment. After making it through his trainee period, Taerae was the second member to be announced as part of the boy group.

Eunchan
Hailing from Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, Choi Byeong Seop is known by his stage name Eunchan. Being a 01 liner, Eunchan’s birthday falls on February 27. Being a part of the boy group TEMPESTt, the idol serves as the sub vocalist of the boy group. In TEMPEST, his keyword is CLASSIC. He was the sixth member to be revealed by Yuehua Entertainment. Just like fellow member Lew, Eunchan is also an alumnus of the infamous Hanlim Multi Arts School. He was from the Fashion Modeling department and graduated with the batch of 2020. Along with being an artistic person, Eunchan enjoys sports as well. In his family, Eunchan is the youngest member.

Hanbin
Hailing from Yên Bái, Vietnam, Hanbin’s full name is Ngô Ngọc Hưng. Being a 98 liner, Hanbin’s birthday falls on January 19. As a part of the boy group TEMPEST, Hanbin serves as the lead dancer and lead vocalist. In TEMPEST, his keyword is CHALLENGE. Before starting his idol career, Hanbin had already started his career as a dancer. After teaching himself how to dance when he was fifteen, Hanbin went on to start the dance group called ‘CAC’. After leading the group from 2016 to 2019, the idol went on to make his start his idol career.
Starting his training in July 2019 with BE:LIFT lab, he went on to participate in the survival show I-Land. Initially relegated to the Ground after the first episode, Hanbin soon moved to rank 12 by episode 7. But the idol was soon eliminated in episode 11. With an established fanbase, Hanbin went on to hold his first solo fan meeting in 2020. In June 2021, Hanbin finally left BE: LIFT Lab and went on to sign with Yuehua Entertainment. Training with the new company for around 8 months, he went on to make his debut in the boy group TEMPEST.

Hyeongseop
Hailing from Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, just like fellow member Lew, Hyeongseop’s full name is Ahn Hyung Seop. Being a 99 liner, Hyeongseop’s birthday falls on August 9. Being a part of the boy group TEMPEST, the idol serves as the vocalist and dancer for the group. For the public appearances, he also sometimes acts as the MC for the boy group. In TEMPEST, his keyword is PASSION. To make his idol career public, Hyeonseop also participated in the survival show Produce 101 S2. By the end, the idol’s rank was revealed at 16th position.
Before joining Yuehua Entertainment, the idol used to be an idol trainee under Bighit Entertainment. He used to train with TXT’s Yeonjun. Along with his duo with fellow member Lew, the idol also went on to make his acting debut in 2017 as well. He acted in the web drama Mischievous Detectives on Naver TV Cast along with the TV show Tok! Tok! Boni Hani. The idol has also won an award for best fantasy makeup at Bonihani Award.

Hyuk
Hailing from Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, Hyuk’s full name is Koo Bon Hyuk. Being a 00 liner, Hyuk’s birthday falls on April 17. Being a part of the boy group TEMPEST, the idol serves as the main vocalist of the group. In TEMPEST, his keyword is POSSIBILITY. Hyuk has been one of the talented trainees. The idol also has a pretty visual, and his eyes are the prettiest. Before joining Yuehua Entertainment and making his debut with TEMPEST in February 2022, he also auditioned for several other entertainment companies.
After making his first try, Hyuk passed the auditions for FNC Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and Big Hit Entertainment. But eventually decided to go with Yuehua Entertainment. In his home, he’s an older brother to a younger sister. The idol often teaches choreography to the members after taking dance lessons.

Hwarang
Hailing from Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea, Song Jae Won is known by his stage name Hwarang. Being an 01 liner, Hwarang’s birthday falls on April 23. As a part of the boy group TEMPEST, the idol serves as the main rapper, main dancer, and composer of the boy group. In Tempest, his keyword is FREEDOM. He is an alumnus of Chungdam High School in Gangnam. Hwarang started his idol career as a trainee in 2015. Joining DSP Media, the idol was a trainee at the entertainment company for over 6 years.
He even trained along with the members of the boy group MIRAE. He was also a contestant on the survival show Under Nineteenand achieved the rank 32. Throughout his time as a trainee, Hwarang looked up to Kard’s J. Seph. He was also the co-ed group’s background dancer in the music video for KARD’s single Enemy. Passing his trainee period, Hwarang was the third member to be announced as part of TEMPEST.
