The Wye Valley on the English/Welsh border is prominently featured in the current installment once more. Deon Du Preez, the location manager in charge of Sex Education, promises new places to, well, spot. According to Du Preez, there are unlimited chances in the sites we film in, which are predominantly in Wales.

Sex Education Season 4 Filming Locations
Otis’s family home, a 100-year-old Norwegian-style chalet with absurd views, has gained popularity in Sex Education since the program’s debut in 2019. The new season of the show features him and his mother, sex therapist Jean (Gillian Anderson), who is going through a breakup.
As a result, expect plenty of heartfelt exchanges between mother and son. The home is located in Symonds Yat, Herefordshire, a hamlet with views of the picturesque Wye Valley, and it has been rented out on Airbnb since 2021 for up to 10 people.
The former Caerleon campus of the University of South Wales, where Moordale High was first filmed, no longer exists. Instead, the students are moving their books, crushes, and growing pains to Cavendish Sixth Form College, a new place of learning.
At Cardiff’s St Fagans National Museum of History, the school’s exterior was filmed. There are always a variety of historical structures tracing Wales’s social past there, and it’s so easily accessible that it wasn’t even shut down while filming.
Du Preez claims that there were people in line to enter the museum about five to twenty meters to the right of the photo. Cavendish was originally intended to appear very differently from the ultra-modernist structure you’ll see in season 4, according to the location manager.
We began assembling ideas based on the notion that we desired a brutalist structure and ultimately came to the conclusion that, in a perfect world, something approximating the Natural Museum of History (St. Fagans) would be great.
Maeve (Emma Mackey) departs for the US to attend Wallace University in season four, exposing her developing “thing” with Otis to a variety of uncomfortable, sext-related incidents.
While Bristol University, whose Gothic Wills Memorial Building serves as the Ivy League college’s library in the program, is where you may apply, Wallace is a fictional institution in real life, so there’s no use in applying there.
Du Preez explains the decision to use the area, saying, “It’s a big contrast to Moordale and that was the whole purpose because Maeve is going in a completely different direction.”
Meanwhile, the breathtaking 19th-century surroundings of Gloucestershire’s Westonbirt School served as the backdrop for Wallace’s outside scenes. According to Du Preez, “We needed a structure that feels like an Ivy League college.” Westonbirt is unquestionably magnificent, which is what was required.
In the new season, semi-reformed bad boy Adam is on his way to the Welsh outback to lick his wounds after being betrayed while his ex, Eric, is at Cavendish.
Werngochlyn Farm, a working farm that welcomes visitors, is just outside of Abergavenny, where those shots were shot. Supervising site manager Deon Du Preez describes the setting: “To see the farm, the house, the stables, and the country landscape unfolding behind, that tells the whole story in one shot.”
Early seasons were heavily influenced by mid-century and 1970s design, but Season 4 has a more contemporary feel with lots of ’80s allusions. A pivotal scene also occurs in a mall that Tom discloses was demolished soon after Sex Education was filmed there.
