The series was created by I. Marlena King and premiered on June 8, 2010, with the season finale being aired on June 27, 2017. The series had a total of seven seasons with 160 episodes in it. Each episode of the series had a runtime of 41-45 minutes.
The setting of the show is the fictional Redwood High School, in Pennsylvania. The series had several spins off made from it. The series got a huge response and was loved by the audience. Every time one would think they’d the series and the villain of the series figured out; they would be in for a surprise.
The show did leave the audience in some confusion that is going to be resolved today. The show got recognition due to showing real-life incidents that take place in high school. The betrayals in the friendships on the show appear to be real, it feels as if you’re the one facing the betrayal from your friends. The characters of the show are authentic and relatable. A Brief Synopsis Of Pretty Little Liars
The plot of the series follows a group of four close knit-friends Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin, and Spencer Hastings, who breaks apart after their leader and another close friend Alison went missing. There goes a saying Never trust a pretty blonde with a dark side, the same goes for Alison DiLaurentis.
Alison was the queen bee of the fictional Redwood High School before she apparently disappeared forever. All the girls used to share their deepest darkest secrets with each other and Alison knew about everyone.
The girls are forced to come back together after they all start receiving anonymous messages from A blackmailing them with their secrets that only Alison knew. The girls know that if the secrets come out in the open it will destroy their future and try to figure out who’s behind the blackmailing together.
The A is someone in the series who manipulates, blackmails, and tortures the people who’ve wronged them. The original A is revealed to be three mentally-ill women who’ve been wronged by their close ones and are now seeking revenge from them.
The first A of the season is revealed to be Mona Vanderwaal who’s seeking revenge on Alison for her friend’s blindness which was the direct result of Alison lighting up a bunch of firecrackers. The cracker incident also left a mark on Mona’s stomach.
The rest of the seasons of the series revolve around new A and their revenge plans. Alison is also revealed to be an A who’s seeking revenge on her twin sister and her friends who abandon her. Courtney is the mentally-ill sister who replaces Alison as the queen bee.

Who Is Mona Vanderwaal?
Mona Vanderwaal is the G.O.A.T and original A of the series. She is both the protagonist and the antagonist in the first season of pretty little liars as she becomes the new member of the popular group and forms a bond with Alison’s previous group. Mona stalked and manipulated Alison before her disappearance.
Mona used to be a nerd who liked and idolized Alison until she breaks her heart and gave her the title of the biggest loser. Later Mona transforms herself and takes Alison’s place as the queen bee at Rosewood High School. Mona takes help from her former friend Hanna to become the new queen bee.
Even after becoming the queen bee Mona isn’t happy with her life and craves approval from the other members of the group as only Hannah is someone who cares about Mona. Mona is vain but intelligent and uses her cyber skills to bully the group members who’ve previously wronged her. The psychiatrist of Rosewood High School revealed Mona to be suffering from a personality disorder.
She is sneaky and knows her way around things. Mona is beautiful but has a tragic sense of style and doesn’t know how to enhance her beauty. Her style changes through the series and starts to overcome her insecurities. She also suffers from a superiority complex and lost her weight rapidly to become skinny and beautiful.

Is Mona Vanderwaal Really Dead?
The twelfth episode of the fifth season of pretty little liars sees the shocking turn of events where Mona is presumed dead after the police find her house filled with blood. Mona had made plans and formed truces with Ali’s enemies to take Ali out of the game after Alison is shown to return alive to Rosewood High School.
The amount of blood that Mona lost led the police to believe hers was a homicide case. Mike reveals Mona’s plan to fake her death to other members of the gang. Mona is assumed to be murdered by A, the current cyberbully with blonde hair. She was wearing a black hoodie while killing Mona, as revealed in the series. Mona is revealed to be alive in the show in the later episodes of the season.
Mona is kidnapped by the A and kept hidden in a dollhouse, where she is forced to pretend to be Alison. Mona is kept locked up in the dollhouse with other girls where they all experience torture by the A. In their attempt to escape from the dollhouse, the girls band together and Mona reveals to them she knows she’s Mona but is forced to pretend like she’s Ali by A.
Mona has never died in the series, as she returns to the show in the episode “She’s No Angel.” She’s scared about what Alison will do to her, once she learns about Mona’s plan to frame her death and frame Alison for it.
Mona decides to inform the police about her return, and the gang goes on to try and reveal A’s identity. Mona is seen teaming up with Leslie, as Leslie is suspected to be A by the gang.
