The Flash, the most successful and lengthiest show on the CW, will soon be available on Netflix. But the question is whether it will be released in its entirety or in installments on a weekly basis. The eighth season of the superhero series is based on a DC comic book of the same title. The show premiered on the CW in 2014 and is part of the Arrowverse world. According to a previous agreement with The CW, all CW episodes will be available on the streaming service for the duration of their run plus an additional 5 years. This agreement also included a condition stating that all The CW series would be available on the platform eight days following the season finale. The hitch is that this agreement expired in 2019. The Flash Crossovers Explained
The first five episodes of the season were crossover event chapters starring various Arrowverse actors and heroes. The episodes will “not quite be a crossover, but it will have a crossover-type feel,” according to The CW’s President Mark Pedowitz. Cress Williams, repeating his role as Jefferson Pierce / Black Lightning from the Arrowverse series Black Lightning, announced in May 2021 that he had been invited to make a guest appearance in the season and was in talks to appear. Williams expressed interest in appearing because he enjoyed being a part of the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover and thought he and Gustin got along well in their moments together. Pedowitz reportedly mentioned that other actors had been approached at the time.
