As streaming wars continue to rage on, and platforms like Paramount+ are struggling to make a dent in the market share against titans like Disney+, Netflix, and Hulu that are all embarked on the same concept of exploiting the revival and nostalgia aspect of shows catering to a very specific segment: Millennials and Gen Z who grew up watching teen shows. This is true for Paramount+ as this week plans to unroll the third season of iCarly, the revival show originally featured on Nickelodeon back in the 2000s.
The show’s third season brings back one more time Miranda Cosgrove, Laci Mosley, Nathan Kress, Jaidyn Triplett, and Jerry Trainor for more of their daily lives in Seattle as they navigate young adulthood. A concept that takes from revival shows that the original target now likes it so much. The series was produced by Dan Schneider, the original producer from iCarly, and many other productions like The Amanda Show, The Adventures of Kid Danger, and Victorious.
What To Expect From iCarly Season 3?
iCarly’s third season picks up on the previous season, and as the trailer apparently shows us, Carly’s big brother Spencer is showing up, bringing a new layer of story arcs and character development. Also, we’re going to see Carly grow emotionally as her feelings for Freddie test her and she’ll be confronted with those feelings as Freddie dates his ex again. Could Carly work her magic and female traits to make Freddie look at her and forget about his ex? It’s his ex, after all, it ended for a reason!
Still, Carly values Freddie’s friendship a lot, and this season we’ll see how she puts that in balance with the other aspects of her life, one after college, one after the adolescence we saw in the original series as she navigates early adulthood in a web series format that’s very popular for those among the target of this kind of programs.
