Love Flops a Kadokawa Company-produced animation television program that was developed by Passione and was overseen by Nobuyoshi Nagayama. As Asahi is walking home from the convivence store, he sees a gigantic CCTV floating in the air like a spacecraft, spying on him. It tries to neuter him, but Karin, the magic girl, arrives aptly and destroys it.
Not knowing her identity, he confides in Yoshio about the matter that is when Karin pops in with her confession. But before anything can be resolved, the classmates spot a UFO mid-air outside their window. They are confirmed by media to be extraterrestrial objects which have popped up all over the globe. With a single beam, Yoshio gets bombed.
The show plays into the Sailor Moon trope as Karin transforms into a magical girl, but Asahi finds out the truth. She flies and attacks the UFO but fails. SOD, Karin’s magical helper, explains that the main machine BT has to be destroyed to stop the mini BTs from demolishing humankind.
When Karin tries to sacrifice herself for the welfare of the world, Asahi warns her against it, asking her to put her happiness beyond that of others. Karin Hears his kind words, and her powers recharge. She attains Goddess magical girl form, destructing every mini BT in radius.
Now, having known true love, she swipes out the main BT unit. Later, when she talks to Asahi, she is reminded of a memory of hers with him in their childhood. Suspecting something bigger is afoot, she runs away. Elsewhere we see miniature creatures in a meeting together, monitoring the situation with a Doctor called Yoshino.
