John Carlo Zeone is expected to direct the 6th season of the series. The series was renamed Mama June: Road To Redemption after she was arrested with her boyfriend for possession of drugs and domestic violence in 2019. Mama June is someone who likes the attention being on herself.

Mama June From Not To Hot Premise
The fifth season of the series focussed on Mama June and her path to redemption. The series begins with Mama June’s claiming to be six months sober and her family falling apart; she tries to reach out to Pumpkin and Alana. Pumpkin guards Alana and Ella, with Geno still being there from Mama June due to her not being sure of June’s sobriety and the truth behind it.
Pumpkin and Josh’s marriage reaches an all-time low, with them trying to control the situation following Alana’s custody. June and Juno are summoned to make an appearance in the court in 24 hrs. Sugar Bae suffers a medical emergency after he is rushed to the hospital, where he suffers from a diabetic coma.
Mama June continues to try and make contact with Alana. Mama June tries to win her girls back, and a call to Dr. Ish is her last resort. At the same time, Sugar meets Alana behind Jenifer’s back. Alana and Pumpkin confront Mama June for the first time in a year which is followed by a heart-to-heart conversation and reunion that is led by the therapist of the family.
Mama June has to take a surprise drug test with suspicion of Mama June lying about her sobriety is still present. An altercation takes place between Geno and Pumpkin, with Geno coming during Ella’s surprise visit. Jenifer catches Josh keeping secrets from Pumpkin, while Alana has difficulty forgiving Geno for his past actions.
The girls go to Florida to meet Mama June, and Bear tries to repair his relationship with Alana. Pumpkin is angry with Josh for quitting his job and letting Bear stay at their house without talking with her about the same. Alana asks Pumpkin to let her stay with June for a while, and Pumpkin isn’t thrilled about this.
Mama June is delusional about her chances of getting arrested and has a showdown with Josh when he drives down to Florida to fetch Alana. Pumpkin finds out about her pregnancy and keeps it a secret from Josh. Alana’s health issues worsen, and Josh gets forced to call in a favor to get a new job after quitting.
June and Geno have their court date and their verdict. The second part of the season has Pumpkin giving birth and June coming to visit her girls. The fifth season ends with Pumpkin trying to gain Alana’s custody. The sixth season will pick up from here, and June moves to Alabama, thus making Pumpkin suspicious about June being back on drugs.
Pumpkin and Alana get into an altercation about the latter college application process. Pumpkin admits Alana’s attitude reminds her of their mother. The second episode will have June finds the cause of her headaches. Alana starts a habit of healthy cooking. Justin’s mom is suspicious about June still being on drugs.
