The pair married during their sophomore year. The character of Cory is one of the most loved, and the relationship he shares with Topanga is adorable. Topanga was his first love of Cory, and they were the power couple. Cory had a troubled life at school as he got bullied, and academics weren’t his strong forte.
Cory’s personality changes drastically during his high school years when he turns into a hardworking student and his slacker tendencies diminish. Cory matured over the years, and his character development was commendable.
With Whom Did Cory Cheat On Topanga?
Topanga and Cory were the power couple, the ones people looked up to, and no one ever expected that Cory would ever cheat on Topanga. But Cory did cheat on Topanga twice. The first time he cheated in season 3 with Mrs. Robinson, Cory attended Missy’s house for a party, but it turned out to be a ruse created by her to trap Cory. In this case, Mrs. Robinson kissed Cory, but he didn’t reject her advances. Cory does confess the kiss to Topanga, and she forgives him.
The second time Cory cheats on Topanga is in Season 5 in the episode titled “Heartbreak Cory,” where Cory’s class goes on a ski trip. Shawn, Topanga, and Angela are also a part of the ski trip. Cory injures his ankle while getting down from the bus, and as a result, he cannot ski with his friends. He ends up spending all his time talking to Lauren, a worker in the lodge.
As the pair talks, they end up feeling mutual attraction and kisses. Cory decides to hide the information about him kissing Lauren. Once the truth is in front of Topanga, she confronts Cory and dumps him. Cory goes on a date with Lauren, who comes to Philadelphia to pursue her feeling for Cory. He ends up deciding Topanga is the one he loves. Cory and Topanga were meant to be. They had the spark for it, and so they did end up together with two children.
Even though there is no more mention of Cory cheating on Topanga, there were several instances where Cory stepped out of line. He pursued other women while being with Topanga. At one point in Season 6, Cory removed his engagement ring and danced with a provocative waitress.
