Dungeon No Osananajimi is a Shounen rom-com fantasy manga with a very simple plot and some heartwarming characters. It’s primarily filled with adventure in dungeons and two childhood friends who love playing together whenever they get a chance. It could easily be your pick-me-up manga because it’s not very intense and the presentation of the artwork is easily comprehensible.
The plot revolves around two childhood friends, one of whom is Van Sirius, a seventeen-year-old swordsman, and the other is Ryuka Obsidian, the strongest black dragon queen who can also change into it’s human form. These two kids have been friends for ten years, and they love to hang out with each other.
It all started when Ryuka was traveling with her family, but then she got caught in a storm and was stranded alone and couldn’t fly back. That’s when she met Van, who rescued her, and they became fast friends. They would play and enjoy their time in his village, but as time went by, Ryuka would get homesick.
So Van left his village in search of her home. It was a hard journey, and weeks went by before she finally made it home. Since then Van would visit her Dungeon once a month to hang out. Later she became the dungeon boss, and Van got stronger so he could see her by crossing hurdles on his way.
There are four other characters who are silly dungeon monsters who guard the dungeon and who usually get beat up by Van-kun to make his way to her. Although it’s their job to ward off enemies that try to break through but after they got to know their friendship, they supported and encouraged it.
Dungeon No Osananajimi Chapter 19 Recap: Spoilers
“Happy-san Dies” is the title of the chapter, and it depicts a decisive battle between Ogre Organs and Wyrm Hell to determine who would be the lady dragon queen’s new subordinates. So there are eight monsters who are clashing over their love for the Queen Obsidian.
Even though they are friends, they are always fighting, and Ryuka really worries about them. So the four challengers from the team Ogre Organs are Gura-san the Griffin, Pok-san, Katsycat-san, and Yuni-san, the Unicorn. Yes, that was their odd introduction, but they are known as “heavenly rulers.”
Now from the Wyrm Hell, it’s the mutant cobalt Wul-kun, Happy happy-san, from the demi-human orc family Orc-kun and lastly the strongest Mino-san known as “team 4ever.” And the judge for this event was the queen herself, Queen Obsidian in her human form.
Now each match consists of three events, and the first team to win two matches will be the victor. The first event was a fanart show where they had to draw a lady dragon queen’s portrait. So there were no combat skills or warrior prowess. The first event started, and the heavenly rulers did a great job at the portrait, which Ryuka really liked.
Now the pressure is on Team 4ever as they need to draw something better to get an even better score. But no one’s art was over the top on their team except Mino-san, who could see Van-kun hiding and checking them out, whispering with the queen.
So he decided to draw them together, and it was marvelous, which could give them a good score. Before they could submit, Happy-san’s nose bled, and the painting was ruined. With that, Mino was disqualified, and, like the title says, Happy-san was dead satirically.

Dungeon No Osananajimi is a monthly release series, and the speculation for chapter 20 is probably around February 23, 2023, at 5 p.m. Japan Standard Time. However, the English version of the manga would be released a week later after its official release. So stay tuned.
