Lets talk Emperors of Sea in One Piece. Some things are a bit obvious to try and figure out, but when it comes to the manga. We can’t really be sure of something until it is officially confirmed. The Wano raid has finally come to an end with the defeat of Kaidou and Big mom, so this leaves two more spots for the new emperors of the sea to be decided. We know that from the beginning of the series, there have been only four sea emperors.
And as the series went on, we got introduced to all four of them, and we got to see their powers being on a different levels. Then we saw the fall of one of the emperors of the sea, who was replaced by Black Beard. Some things might be difficult to decide because if it is the main character. It might ruin the story if they get their way easily in situations.
But as we know, the antagonists usually have it easy and attain power very fast. On the other hand, the protagonists will have to train their way to the top and do things the hard way. We saw this when Black Beard went from nothing to being an emperor of the sea very fast. In fact, he got the spoils of the Marineford war even though he was not involved in any fighting in the arc.
So he only made a cameo to show that he now possessed tremendous devil fruit powers. Then he was declared an emperor of the sea then he left. Maybe this is because of the powers of the Quake Quake devil fruit combined with his own devil frit powers that make him to be recognized as a sea emperor. Because strength-wise, he seems to be the guy who cheats his way through.
Who are The New Emperors of The Sea?
Before the Wano arc, when the Straw Hat Grand Fleet was established. Then saw the straw hat crew growing exponentially after Luffy and his crew’s actions were recognized by many who decided to follow him as his subordinates. And now, the crew’s exploits in Wano means that the straw hat crew is growing even more, with peoples like Yamato likely to join them soon.
The Straw Hat Grand fleet led to fluffy being recognized as the fifth emperor of the sea even if pirates like Black Beard thought that it was too early for him to be given the title. This was true back then because all we know was that Luffy was as powerful as his gear fourth that did not even last in battle.
So should he have found himself involved in a fight with an emperor of the sea one-on-one, then he would likely have not survived. So that is one thing that most fans would base their argument that Luffy would not qualify to be a Yonko at the level he was at.
But now it looks like there is more to that because he has awakened his devil fruit powers. On top of that, the true name of his devil fruit was revealed, and it became a game-changer when we got to know about his powers are not that of a rubber devil fruit, but they are based on a mythical model of the Human Human fruit, and it is the Sun God Nika fruit that he ate.
So this means that Luffy is now wielding a very powerful devil fruit that is said to have not awakened for centuries. So this already sets him on the path for the Yonko even if his title was given prematurely, with most Pirates and fans refusing to accept it.
The Possible Candidates to Be The Next Emperor of The Sea
If we closely look at the situation, we can still guess with very high possibility about who will become the next emperor of the sea. Because obviously, no one from the side that lost will be getting an increase in bounty. And from the beginning of the fight, we have been witnessing three captains on the frontlines, and they have all awakened their abilities.
For Luffy, it seems like he is always the last one to get there, but he would always be the most iconic of them all. Law has gained popularity before coming to Wano, and it is mostly from his exploits with the strawhats. Meanwhile, Kid went on his way to fight Shanks, who is still one of the sea emperors, and came back alive only with one hand lost.
So he has also earned himself a reputation and is already recognized as a supernova. Looking at the latest spoilers from the manga, the new bounties of those involved in the Onigashima raid have been revealed, and it is now a matter of time before we know who will be the new emperors of the sea, even when we already have a good idea how things will end up.
For now, we might not be sure how the bounties of other strawhats will be affected. But of all the people, we should expect that Luffy’s bounty will likely be the one to increase a lot out of all those in Wano. I mean, he fought Kaidou, who is recognized as the strongest creature alive, and won.
Monkey D Luffy
There is a very high chance that Luffy will be revealed as one of the new sea emperors when the wanted posters that Apoo came with are revealed. Luffy has been at the forefront of the Onigashima raid and was left fighting Kaidou one on one on the rooftop despite being defeated twice. But out of all those events, Luffy kept on rising until he eventually won.
Now that Luffy has a mythical Zoan devil fruit that he has mastered and ended up awakening. This has got to the ears of the Gorosei, and as they are connected to the World Government and the Marines, then this will play a huge role in ensuring that Luffy’s bounty will be increased, and he will likely be recognized as one of the emperors of the sea due to his Strawhat Grand Fleet and its strengths.
Trafalgar D Water Law.
There are only two spots available, and with only three captains involved in Wano, then we can not have a subordinate to be recognized as one of the emperors of the sea. So this means that two places are vacant since Big Mom and Kaidou were defeated. For starters, Luffy defeated Kaidou, and the CP0 agents were also present to report, so this already puts him in a good position.
Then Law played a huge role as well when he dealt a final blow that sent Big Mom to the ground and had his sword extend in ways we have never seen it does. But Back in Punk hazard, this happened for a short moment when Law destroyed the SAD manufacturing factory. But his crew is not that Big, but his actions in the raid put him as a candidate to be possibly recognized as the next Yonkou.
Eustass Kid
Kid has a recognizable crew with around 30 crew members and has proved to be powerful enough to pick a fight with Shaks, who has proved to be the most powerful Haki user in the series and survived to tell a tale about it even though this came at the cost of his arm.
For now, there are no clear rules on what an emperor should be like. But in terms of crew numbers and strength. Luffy comes ahead thanks to his Strawhat Grandfleet, which is already recognized by the marines, so this will play a huge role in the end.
When it comes to Kid, he hasn’t earned that much reputation. But the fact that all of Luffy, Law, and Kidd played a huge role and defeated two emperors of the sea means that they will get an incredible rise in their bounties, with at least two of them going to be recognized as emperors of the sea.
