Who is DeLuca?

And in the 7th episode of the 17th season of Grey’s Anatomy, Carina found DeLuca on the floor losing blood from his stab wound. Then he was admitted to the hospital, and doctors worked really hard to save him. In the end, after losing too much blood, DeLuca dies in the operating theatre itself. Then he was properly given the last goodbye on Meredith’s dream beach.
