Saying Goodbye
They agree to take her home, running out of the event after saying goodbye to Karen and Scott to pick up their daughter! On the other hand, Princess has a younger brother, Tyler, pretty attached. The kids find it difficult to say goodbye to one another. I’m a little perplexed by the setup since Tyler will have nowhere to go if the placements fall through, and I thought Nikki and Jason were in the running to adopt both. Why isn’t Tyler accompanying them home?
Tyler Follows
Although Tyler was not offered to the couple, he finds a method to follow them home. When Nikki, Jason, and Princess return to the apartment, they discover a stowaway in the back of the car. Tyler managed to sneak in. Nikki and Jason contact Penny after temporarily becoming concerned that they would be arrested for kidnapping. She instructs them to detain Tyler for the night, and the agency will determine what to do with him the following day.
Nikki gives Tyler and Princess crayons and paper to keep them occupied while talking with Jason about her options. In the Trying Season 2 finale, Jason does indeed propose to Nikki, as hinted in the previous episode. Penny interferes at that point, as I said previously. Tackiness aside, Jason gets down on one knee after the wedding ceremony, having found a discreet (and gorgeous) location to propose.
But Penny cuts him off before Jason can finish his inquiry, and they don’t get a chance to return until Princess and Tyler are in bed. The first resolve to revisit the proposal after everything with the children has been handled. But Jason can’t wait any longer and proposes once more in the stairway. Nikki, of course, says yes.
In the episode’s concluding minutes, Penny is shown looking at a large bulletin board covered in images of youngsters in need of homes. She switches Princess’s photo from one side of the board to the other, signifying that she has a new home, while Tyler’s portrait alternates between homeless and rehomed as the camera lingers on him.
