Top 10 Comedy Series Likely To Win An Emmy In 2022
When the pandemic hit us all by surprise two years ago, we had two choices: Remote work and streaming. Consequently, streaming services went up in demand. Still, the productions halted, and the entire entertainment industry suffered an unexpected pause. But that didn’t stop viewers from catching up on the previous series or trying new ones.
10. Reservation Dogs
Taika Waititi —she also directed Thor: Love and Thunder— and Sterlin Harjo bring us Reservation Dogs (a pun on the Tarantino classic) that has a novel cast made up of Native Americans on-screen and behind the screen.
Furthermore, the show tells the story of a bunch of teenagers on a crime rampage in rural Oklahoma as they plan to move to Sunny, Liberal California. With great performances, a cool script, and nice reviews, this series has a lot of potentials to grab an Emmy. Moreover, the series has already received a Peabody Award and a Golden Globe nomination, making it a strong candidate. Lastly, this show is available on Hulu.

8. Atlanta
This irreverent yet tough-as-nails comedy starring Donald Glover tells the story of a rapper and his manager trying to make it in the Atlanta rap world. While incredibly funny with great lines, there is a solid cast with Lakeith Stanfield, Bryan Tyree Henry, and Zazie Beetz. This show makes a good competitor, as it has already received nominations for an Emmy for the Outstanding Comedy Series in 2022.
Furthermore, the third season, more dramatic than comedic, had mixed reviews and lowered ratings. And that might be dissuasive for the electors to cast their vote in Atlanta’s way. Lastly, this show is available for streaming on Hulu, FX, DirecTV, Fubo TV, Spectrum on Demand and Amazon Prime Video.

Moreover, the sophomore season drops later this month. So, the ballots will have a chance to revisit the debut and the new material when they cast their vote. 4. The Marvelous Ms. Maisel
Season four of Amazon Prime Video’s The Marvelous Ms. Maisel came back after two years, and it’s got the same good ol’ spunk of Jewish cultural separatism from that New York humor Americans enjoy so much. Moreover, the series is an Emmy-grabbing powerhouse. It managed to get the Award for Outstanding Comedy Series on its debut season and managed to rake in a bunch of nominations for its sophomore and third season. But can it deliver on an Emmy for the fourth one?
So far, the plot and the reception haven’t been as hot as the debut. Still, it’s a top contender for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards. So we’ll have to wait and see! Lastly, the only place to watch this show is on Amazon Prime Video.

HBO’s series starring Bill Hader, about a hitman with self-esteem issues, came back after three years out of circulation. And it came back with a boom. The dark comedy has us following the life of a man who’s so accustomed to violence that quitting his day job for acting class is just too much for him.
Coupled with some dating woes, Barry has to deal with his day-to-day while also facing the skeletons in his closet.
