The Real Housewives of Dubai Premiere Recap
The first of the ladies we meet in this episode is Chanel Ayan. She’s Dubai’s first black top model. Ayan speaks several languages and is married with a son. Today, we met her for the first time in a photoshoot in the desert with some camels. Ayan shares her life story, and tells us details about what’s important for her.
Caroline Stanbury
We then go to Caroline Stanbury’s house. It’s 11:00 am, but she’s just waking up and she’s upset because her teacup dog peed on her bed. She’s greeted by her boy toy boyfriend. A man half her age, some muscle meathead Italian jock named Sergio. Caroline texts her servant for some smoothies but doesn’t like what she has prepared.
Nina Ali visits Caroline, and they pop a bottle of champagne. They toast and start to chit-chat about Caroline’s Jewish, divorced single mother background and the problems that were created for her in the Emirates. She’s having a bachelorette party and wants Nina to help her.
Lesa
We meet Lesa and her family. They’re having a pool party. But it was so hot that the pool water got hot, so they ordered giant ice cubes to cool down the water. Lesa tells us her life story, and when the night falls, she, her husband, and kids have some s’mores on the barbecue grill.
Caroline Brooks
We move to Caroline Brook’s house, she’s kicking it with her kid on the pool, and she’s doing business over the phone with some other realtor. After her introduction, we move to a lunch date with Lesa and Ayan. The two mingle and talk about life.
Sara
Sara goes with her son to Dubai’s tallest frame with Nina. They take photos together and her son faces his fear of heights. After that, she goes for a picnic with him and the rest of their family. Sara shares her story and tells us her aspirations in life. She wants to raise her kids in a modern way, while keeping traditional Arab values present during his upbringing.
The Bachelorette Party
On the day of Caroline Stanbury’s bachelorette party, everyone gets ready. They board a posh yacht. After that, champagne flows, the hors d’oeuvres fly, and everybody has fun. Then, everybody asks why Ayan isn’t there. They ask about Ayan’s absence, and everyone but Carlone Stanbury comments. We learn a little bit about Ayan’s character. But stay with us because that will pop up in the next section.
The Fight
Nina prepares the dinner table with some spiritual crystals and some smoke. She welcomes the ladies. The venue is the posh Ce La Vi restaurant on Dubai’s rooftops with a skyline view. The women arrive one by one, looking their best. They pop a bottle of Dom Perignon, and then Ayan comes saying just how cool she is. When the girls start talking about how cool the yacht party is, Ayan cuts them and asks why are they talking about something she wasn’t a part of? Everyone feels awkward. And Ayan insists. Caroline Stanbury tells Ayan she can’t stand her.
Ayan insists she isn’t going to partake in a conversation. In the confessional, Caroline Stanbury says she didn’t invite Ayan on purpose because she always makes things about her on purpose. The girls continue to talk about Caroline’s party, but Ayan confronts Caroline Brooks telling her that she knows that Caroline Stansbury didn’t invite her. Everyone around looks tired about his. Nina tries to cut things with sage smoke. But the mood swings go awry. Lastly, Nina shouts that she doesn’t want that drama at the table. The episode concludes with Sara trying to mediate.
