The Flight Attendant Season 2 Episode 1 Recap
The Flight Attendant Season 2 opens up in Los Angeles with Cassie living a close to perfect life for her. She is soon going to be sober for a year now. Cassie’s love life is going great with her photographer boyfriend, Marco. Apart from that, she continues to be a flight attendant but also has a side gig. She is working with the CIA as a civilian asset. Something her contact Benjamin has to constantly remind her because she tends to cross the lines.
So, this time around, she had to leave for Germany to keep an eye on a man named Mark Kotov. All she has to do is keep checking on him at the hotel and take photos. She shouldn’t follow him on the outside or do anything that might result in him being suspicious of her.
In Germany, Cassie quickly comes across Will, but a couple named Gabrielle and Esteban interrupts her and seem like they are onto her. Cassie continues her job of observing Will from her hotel window. Eventually, she sees him getting intimate with a blonde woman who later hands him a suitcase.
What’s crazy about this exchange was the fact that this blonde woman shares the same tattoo as Cassie on her back. On top of that, a man in a room up above Will’s might have been recording their whole conversation.
Cassie chases down Will only to see him getting caught in an explosion with the blonde woman standing right near the scene who looks quite identical to Cassie. Later on, back in her hotel, she finds out that she or her doppelganger may have checked out of the hotel earlier. She also finds her clothes missing.
Cassie comes back home to reunite with Annie and Max. But she had to meet Dot Karlson at the CIA Field Office as they found out that she was near the explosion. The episode came to a close with Cassie receiving someone else’s luggage that contains a blonde wig with blood on it. Amidst all of this, Megan tried to contact Cassie before abruptly cutting the phone during a conversation. It seems like someone has kidnapped Megan.

The Flight Attendant Season 2 Episode 1 Review
The Flight Attendant Season 2 Episode 1 picks up as a completely new start for Cassie. We see a Cassie, unlike the one we saw in the first season, where most of the time she was drunk. This time around, she is sober and quite capable of living the perfect life she can. The character of Cassie tends to do overdo sometimes, as Benjamin mentioned. Why shouldn’t she, right? How will the story get complex then?
The last time around, drinking was Cassie’s big enemy. This time though, she is battling a war with her inner self. From time to time, during some of the scenes in the show, we see a scene in her mind where she talks to different versions of herself. These are some of the funniest parts of the episode. They can be avoided for now if you are focusing on the main storyline over here.
This makes us wonder if the doppelganger thing which Cassie saw is real or not. Especially when Cassie is dealing with different versions of her in her mind. Well, we guess time will tell if the show is trying to hide something. As long as Cassie literally saw someone else, we have to go say it might be a doppelganger.
Coming to the case Cassie is working on, well, neither the show nor the CIA is coming ahead to reveal any in-depth details about it. The episode has kept you in the dark but at the same time, hooked without detailing much.
The same goes for the new characters joining the show, from Grace to Gabrielle and Esteban. What they bring to the table remains to be seen. The first episode might give away that characters like Grace might just be there as an addition. But Gabrielle and Esteband seem to have bigger goals to play in the show.
