After spending the majority of the storyline in Essex, Frankie, Cora, and Martha were relocated to London in episode 5. Stella, Will, Jo, and John then travel to London to consult with Dr. Luke Garrett about Stella. Will and Cora had a lot of weird experiences. When Stella decides not to have the procedure, Will and his family leave. When Luke proclaims his love for Cora, and she rejects it, their relationship becomes odd. As a result of this bitterness, Cora and Martha’s relationship worsens, and Martha decides to leave Cora. Luke gets robbed, and the criminal cuts his hand, which he uses to perform his surgeries.
The Essex Serpent Finale
Stella begs Will to grab Cora and Frankie and return them to her in Essex. As a result, Will decides to write to Cora, notifying her of her TB diagnosis and the difficulties she is facing. Will also reveals that he’s shattered, unable to get through all those days, and that, despite Stella’s requests, he doesn’t believe that it’s a good decision for them to return. Meanwhile, Martha informs Ambrose of the terrible news regarding his social housing cost. Then again, he decides not to go through with it. Spencer, on the other hand, is going to try to assist them, even offering to buy the entire building. Electricity and water are promised to the people, which they are overjoyed about, but Spencer’s actual flex is to impress Martha. Spencer ultimately offers her a job in order to try to raise money for social housing.
Away from this storyline, Cora pays a visit to Luke and expresses her heartfelt regret for what has happened to him. Cora also suggests that he move in with her, which is treated with suspicion. Cora persists in providing Michael’s room in exchange for an explanation as to why he refuses to move in. Luke tells her that he is in love with her, but she is in love with someone else. Cora and Frankie go to see Stella after hearing some helpful words from Martha. Stella is relieved to see them when they arrive, but she has a request for Cora. She wishes to pay Will a visit to the church. Her ideal solution is for the two of them to sit down and discuss their issues. As she walks away, she gives Cora a warm, knowing smile.
The Essex Serpent Ending Explained
The people are still afraid of this serpent because Naomi is still missing, and they refuse to come out on the lake. Cora and Will, on the other hand, discuss Stella’s condition. Will admits that he’s having trouble with this but assures Cora that he’ll always adore Stella. With that, the two appear to be on their way to kissing. Stella, on the other hand, brings Frankie out to the shoreline, where she admits to having seen the serpent. Frankie pushes her into the water while she sits on the boat. “My God and King,” Stella says as she makes the decision to meet this serpent. Frankie rushes out to see Will and Cora, giving Stella’s location. The boat flips over as it floats up the river, and Stella falls into the water.
Will dashes into the river, trying to rescue Stella. He grabs her and drags her back to him. However, there is a brief view of what appears to be a serpent lurking beneath the water. Naomi comes walking up the shoreline to her father as Stella returns home with Cora. She discloses that the serpent is no longer alive and that everything will be fine. Bells ring, the people gather, and they proceed to the river, where a gigantic creature has washed up on the shoreline. Although it resembles a whale, we’ll call it a “giant dying fish” for the time being. Time jumps forward now that the serpent nonsense is out of the way.
Will does his best to care for Stella as she slowly passes away. Cora, on the other hand, returns to digging after getting a letter from Dr. Garrett regarding his progress. He misses her and has also been promoted to the position of dean of the medical school, where he will teach others what he knows. Will gets a note from Cora, in which she tells him she’s broken and rebuilt, as well as that she loves him. She expects him to respond, but he instead puts it away with the other letters he’s received from her. Will makes a decision and goes to see Cora in person, saying that he never wrote as he had far too much say. After kissing and healing the scars from their past, the couple decides to walk hand in hand.
