When fans heard that the webtoon “The Deluxe Taxi” was getting adapted as a k-drama, the fans had high expectations. And standing up to the standards, SBS’ 2021 k-dama ‘Taxi Driver’ become one of the best weekend k-dramas of 2021. The action-thriller is a perfect balance between thriller and Melo and a little romance. Created on a concept of a transportation firm, the k-drama also sheds light on real crime cases in Korea. Just from the beginning, ‘Taxi Driver’ keeps you hitched. To make the k-drama where it is today, the Taxi Driver cast played a very important role.
It went on to become the fourth-highest rated weekend k-drama in SBS’s history. The story follows Kim Do Gi, who used to be a Special Forces officer. After getting betrayed, he runs ‘Rainbow Taxi,’ a secret organization that avenges victims whom the law didn’t protect. It all comes down when Prosecutor Kang Ha Na is assigned the case and starts looking into the organization. Furious with their lawless behavior on one side, Ha Na was quite impressed and shocked to see Do Gi’s team solving cases that the law couldn’t.

Lee Je Hoon as Kim Do Gi
Lee Je Hoon has become a hot topic in the k-drama world. Known for playing the role of Kim Do Gi in the 2021 k-drama ‘Taxi Drama,’ the fans are waiting for the actor to come back to TV screens once again. Majoring in Biotechnology, Lee Je Hoon decided to drop out. He moved to the School of Drama at Korea National University of Arts. Lee Je Hoon made his acting debut with the 2007 short film “They Live by Night”. But it wasn’t until the 2011 indie film “Bleak Night” that when actor rose to stardom.
Sticking to movies for a start, Lee Je Hoon has done some fantastic movies like ‘The Front Line,’ ‘Time to Hunt,’ and ‘Bleak Night’. The actor also went on to do k-dramas like ‘Signal’ and ‘Secret Door’. After the weekend k-drama ended, Lee Je Hoon went on to do ‘Move To Heaven’ with Netflix. Along with a movie named ‘Unframed’. As of 2022, Lee Je Hoon has ‘Taxi Driver’ Season 2 lined up as an upcoming project. ‘Taxi Driver’ Season 2 will come out in the second half of 2022.

Esom
Popularly known as Esom, Lee So Young has been active in the entertainment industry since 2008. Starting out as a model, the actress went on to make her acting debut with the 2010 movie ‘Second Half’. Creating her buzz among the fans, Esom went on to do a lot more movies. The 2014 film “Scarlet Innocence” was Esom’s rise to fame. For her role, she was nominated for Best New Actress in five different award ceremonies. Playing the role of Kang Ha Na in the 2021 k-drama ‘Taxi Driver,’ she has once again proved her acting skills. As of 2022, while the news of the actress reprising her role in Taxi Driver Season 2 is not confirmed yet, she does have some upcoming projects lined up. She’ll be playing the lead role in the upcoming mini k-drama ‘Black Knight’. Esom also has two movies, i.e. ‘Single in Seoul’ and ‘Kill Bok Soon’ lined up for the year.
Pyo Ye Jin
From being a flight attendant, Pyo Ye Jin went on to make her acting debut with the 2012 family-themed drama series “Here Comes Mr. Oh”. The actress has played a number of support roles in k-dramas like ‘Fight For My Way’ and ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim’. Playing the role of Ahn Go Eun in ‘Taxi Driver,’ the actress has left her mark on the audience. As of 2022, Pyo Ye Jin will be reprising her role in Taxi Driver 2. She’s also be playing a supporting role in the upcoming k-drama ‘Youth, Climb the Barrier’.
