A reality competition series called Survivor has been giving fans non-stop entertainment since the launch of its first season back in 2000. The CBS show is currently in the middle of airing its forty-fifth season, with its castmates stuck on a remote island somewhere in Fiji.
That the show would be back with a new season for fans to binge was confirmed early this year. This is the thirteenth season of the show being filmed at the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji, but it never stops being a thrilling experience for the audience.
If you have not been up to date with the format of the show then all you need to know is that our eighteen brave participants join the show for a rough but adventurous journey that goes on for around twenty-six days. The contestants are usually divided into groups, or ‘tribes’ of three. Together, they are forced to endure hard challenges to survive if they wish to get a grand reward, a huge amount of money.
At the start of the season, fans were told that one of the members from the forty-fourth season, Bruce Perreault, would be rejoining the crew on this journey to get a second chance at showing his true potential on the show. He had to be taken off the show because of some medical issues that called for immediate attention.
The participants who joined the new season of the show, including Bruce, are Hannah Rose, Brandon Donlon, Sabiyah Broderick, Sean Edwards, Brandon Meyer, J. Maya Krishnanjha, Nicholas Alsup, Kaleb Gebrewood, Kellie Nalbandian, Kendra McQuarrie, Austin Li Coon, Dee Valladares, Drew Basille, Emily Flippen, Jake O’Kane, Julie Alley, and Katura Topps.
Fans who have been with the show since its conception seem to have a lot to say about the recent seasons of the show. While Survivor may have started as a great, unique concept for a show with interesting survival insights being displayed by the cast members, the show, now, seems to have given in to the pressure of being entertaining, resorting to cheap backstabbing and over-the-top drama for its episodes.
Recap
Currently airing its forty-fifth season, the show is about to put on its eleventh episode for the show. Our host, Jeff Probst is doing his best trying to keep up the energy of the show by engaging the audience. The previous episode i.e. episode 10, was released on November 29th, 2023, and a lot went down over its length.
The episode had a reward challenge and an immunity challenge, all the while the castaways tried to figure their way out in the show. The reward challenge had the castaways try to manipulate a ball in a way that it lands right in the center of the table.
The final reward was a break from the very natural state of the island and a night’s stay at a beautiful sanctuary, along with a properly cooked turkey dinner and letters from back home. Our girl Emily won the challenge and brought along with her Julie, Katurah, and Dee.
This was followed by a rise in tensions between castmates Jake and Drew when the former thought it okay to target the latter in the episode. The immunity challenge had the castaways stand on a slanted board fixed on the water. The last one standing won and got the immunity. The winner of this challenge turned out to be Austin, who beat Bruce and ended up getting sent to the jury in the end.
