Revenant Episode 4 Summary
Hae Sang finds San Yeong standing on the bridge, and she is possessed. She is smiling and says that Hae Sang has grown up now.
When she saw her for the first time, he was a child. San Yeong murmurs the numbers 21 and 176, and she gains back consciousness. She is confused about how she came here.
The next day both of them visit her father’s home to find information about the numbers, but they cannot find anything. Tae Young’s great-uncle calls San Yeong because Tae has decided to tell her about the information she has.
A year ago, Kang Mu, San Yeong’s father, visited her grandfather in the hospital to learn about the murder mystery of a 9-year-old girl from 1958. San Yeong and Hae Sang decided to know more about it.
On the other hand, Detective Lee Hong Sae and his partner Mun-Chun also try to find out more about the same case. The two detectives find an uncanny similarity between all the deaths. All die by suicide and have burnt wrist marks.
Hae Sang and San Yeong find out that the 9-year-old girl was abducted to perform a ritual, and even one of her fingers was missing. Yeong recalls reading something similar in her father’s book, and when she opened it, the page numbers were 176 and 21.
The two leave for Baekchagol village, the one that follows this ritual. On meeting an elderly, they get to know that Yeong’s father, Kang Mu, married a native of this village.
Yeong calls her mother to know why she lied about her birthplace, but she requests that she leave the place as soon as possible. Yeong then hears people screaming and finds out that the elderly have died.
She notices a spirit there. The dolls kept for ritual had also been burnt by a woman who wanted to meet her deceased daughter. Now several spirits are haunting the village.
San Yeong runs after seeing several of these behind her. When she trips and falls, she notices her father’s spirit.
