Dan Trachtenberg’s upcoming horror-action movie Prey, a Predator prequel, has fans of the franchise all hyped up on where to watch it. And today, we’re bringing you some concise answers on the Prey Disney Plus release. Also, we’re sharing with you some details about the cast, a trailer breakdown, and some other details you might find interesting about this soon-to-be-released movie.
When Predator was initially released 35 years ago, it made quite an impact and created a massive follower base that has been consistent through the years and the many movies that followed it. Now, with this film, we’re taken to the origins of Predator when it arrives on Earth to —as the title of the movie aptly puts it— prey on a Native American tribe in 1719. Here’s everything we know about this production!
What Is Prey About?
The film takes place in North America in 1719 when Predator arrives to wreak extraordinary havoc upon a peaceful Comanche tribe. There, Naru, a woman warrior, must do whatever it takes to protect her kith and her kin from Predator, who’s set to lay waste upon them after landing on Earth. What ensues is the carnage of a battle for survival.
Who Stars In Prey?
The cast is made up by Native Americans. Amber Midthunder plays Naru. You may recall her from “Legion”, Dakota Beavers, Storme Kipp plays Sooyi, Michelle Thrush plays Tin Star, and Julian Black Antelope plays Tribal. Moreover, Predator will be played by NBA player Dane DiLiegro, who also worked in AHS and AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Who Produces Prey?
Dan Trachtenberg directed prey —you may recall his work in “10 Cloverfield Lane” and “The Boys”— and produced by John Davis, who produced the original Predator in 1987, Waterworld in 1995, and Predator 2. Along with Jhane Myers and Marty P. Ewing.
How To Catch Up To Prey?
If you really want to understand Prey, we suggest you watch the Predator films before. If you like, you can also watch the Alien movies, as these two franchises share the same universe and timelines. Now, that might seem like a lot of work because that’s a total of twelve movies, but if you’re up to it, it should give you a better understanding of Prey when you watch it. Still, you can watch it and enjoy it all by itself!

Prey Trailer Breakdown
The trailer begins with a Comanche woman hunting in the woods and facing the threats of nature. She’s trying to hunt down a bear, following it closely through the woods and in the river stream. She’s tracking it down until the moment where she attacks the bear, but she fails, and then the bear goes after her. So, she runs away in fear. The bear is big and scary, the thrilling music intensifies, when the bear seems to have cornered the woman, some mysterious force slams the bear, and we can’t see what kills the bear. We only know that the woman survived.
Back with her tribe, this woman is reluctant to accept the hunter-gatherer dynamics of the tribe, but she knows there’s something weird out there. Then, the music intensifies, even more to show us how a brutal fight between her tribe and Predator begins as her tribe is under siege by an invisible brutal force. We see cut scenes in the fast-paced motion of the movie, some dialogue, and the trailer concludes with the title “Prey”.
