Palworld developer Pocketpair has addressed confusion surrounding the franchise’s growing number of new projects, explaining that many recent announcements are not directly created by the studio itself. The clarification comes after the reveal of Palworld Online, a mobile MMORPG spin-off, and the release of the Palworld trading card game, which led some fans to believe Pocketpair was handling every project internally.

In a statement shared on social media, Pocketpair’s head of publishing and communications John “Bucky” Buckley explained that the company is expanding the Palworld brand through partnerships.

“A lot of these things are actually not made by us, so I can’t really help with your questions much,”

Buckley said while responding to fan messages.

Buckley later explained that Pocketpair is responsible for developing projects such as Palworld, Craftopia, Palfarm, and More Than Just Pals, while several other franchise expansions are being handled by outside companies through licensing agreements.

The Palworld card game was created through an external partnership, while Palworld Mobile is being developed by Krafton and Palworld Online is being handled by Garena. Buckley also confirmed that Pocketpair continues to operate independently, stating,

“We are STILL 100% self-owned and self-funded.”

The clarification helps separate Pocketpair’s own development work from licensed Palworld projects, giving fans a clearer understanding of how the franchise is being expanded across different platforms.
