A romantic-comedy series based on the eighteenth century called Our Flag Means Death was released in 2022 and will soon release its new season. With its quirky characters and amusing comedy, the show did not take long to find an appropriate fanbase.
Starring Rhys Darby in the leading role of Stede Bonnet, Taika Waititi as the pirate named Edward Teach, Ewen Bremner, Con O’Neill, Joel Fry, Samson Kayo, Nathan Foad, and many others as its amazing cast, the show received praise from its audience for being inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community and for becoming a comfort series for many.
Inspired by the life of a real-life personality called Stede Bonnet, who happened to be a military officer turned pirate during his time, the show has skillfully woven the story around this character. We get transported to the 18th century, a timeline where the pirates were said to have ruled the seas when Stede abandons his peaceful life to enter the dangerous life of a pirate.
Over the first season’s episodes, we were not only introduced to Stede’s life as an average officer. Still, we were also given a glimpse into how he became a pirate, struggling heavily while leading his ship, Revenge. Leaving his noble life behind to turn to a life of crime would not be easy, and the show’s makers have done a great job portraying all of the misadventures our rookie pirates had to go through.
Having to fight naval ships and other pirates while trying to establish themselves as tough pirates gets as hilarious as you can imagine. Things take a turn for the better when another scary pirate, Edward Teach, enters the pictures, cueing the much-awaited romance between him and the rookie pirate, Stede.

Our Flag Means Death Season 2 Episode 1: Preview
The first season was more or less set around the life of Stede Bonnet as he left his job as a military officer and liked the pirate lifestyle. He struggles to get his hands on a ship, one that is named Revenge, to come off as a strong opponent to both the navy and others from the pirate community.
We see Stede put together a slightly dysfunctioning band of pirates who would accompany him aboard his ship, and together, they start an amusing journey full of misadventures, putting a strong front against all odds. While they somehow manage to live on the ship, the pampered pirate faces countless struggles while adjusting to this new life.
During one of his misadventures, he and his crew end up crossing ways with the infamous fellow pirate called Edward Teach, also popularly known as Blackbeard. Their story of enemies to lovers is fun and wholesome to witness.
The makers of the show have not revealed much about the second season of the show in terms of its premise, so it’s hard to guess the direction they will end up taking. Though the old cast is confirmed to be back, we guess that Stede and Ed’s love line will continue.
In the previous season, the two ended up falling in love, and in this season, the same love will be tested. This new season is confirmed to have focused more on the romance between the two leads and all they have to go through because of their jobs.
There has also been a mention of armies and storms, so it will not just be all soft and fluff.

Our Flag Means Death Season 2 Episode 1 will be out for fans to binge on Thursday, October 5th, 2023. The show’s producers have confirmed that this new season will have no more than eight episodes, all with a running time of thirty-five minutes at most.
The season will kickstart the rough journey of romance for the two characters, and we are excited to see where the couple will end up by the end. As for the release time when the episode will be dropped hot, you can stream the episode on the date mentioned above at 12:00 AM (PST).
