Actors Shin Hye Sun and Ji Chang Wook seem to be on a roll this year and have shocked fans by announcing yet another project, which is all set for release in the final month of this year. Ji Chang Wook gave fans a hit series titled The Worst of Evil alongside cast member Wi Ha Joon, and actress Shin Hye Sun was also spotted leading a chart-topping series called See You In My 19th Life.
The actress also released movies Brave Citizen and Target this year as well. Without a break, the two are soon going to be back on our screens, and fans could not be more excited since this will be the first time we will see them coupled together.
Written by Kwon Hye Joo and directed by Cha Young Hoon, the show is titled Welcome to Samdal-ri and is all set for release in early December. Fans seem especially excited because they will finally get to see our leading man in a softer, more romantic role, completely opposite to what he played in his recent action series.
The show Welcome to Samdal-ri stars Ji Chang Wook in the role of Jo Yong Pil, a weather forecaster placed in Jeju, and Shin Hye Sun as Jo Sam Dal, or Jo Eun Hye, a photographer in the fashion world. Apart from our leads, we will also see actresses Kim Mi Kyung, Shin Dong Mi, and Kang Mi Na, as well as actors Seo Hyun Chul and Yu Oh Seong, in the show.
While the list of supporting cast members does not stop here, we will let you watch the series and meet the characters as you watch the episodes. If you want to know more about the series and how the stories of Sam Dal and Yong Pil will unfold together, then continue reading till the end.
The Plot
Jo Yong Pil lost his mother to the sea because of a mistake in the weather report made on the day of her passing. Losing her at a young age pushed him to become a weather forecaster himself so that no one in his town has to go through a tragedy like that ever again.
His resolve to relay correct information is extremely strong, and rightfully so, and this leads to him becoming a stubborn employee at his workplace, not afraid to go against his own bosses. Yong Pil remained in the small town, one where he was born and bred, working passionately every day.
Sam Dal, a childhood friend of Young Pil, was also born in the same small town but felt the exact opposite of what Yong Pil felt about the place. While the latter felt completely at peace living a small yet wholesome life in his town, Sam Dal felt an urgent need to run away from the place to do something bigger.
Not wanting to waste her life, she works hard to get out of the town to move to the big city where the magic happens. In Seoul, her struggle continued, and she remained stuck working as an assistant in the fashion industry.
She decides it’s best to change her name to Jo Eun Hye, and life changes for her almost immediately. She gets to the top, becomes successful, and finally has the life she has always wanted in her palms. But things end up going terribly wrong for her, and she finds herself packing her bags and moving back to where her story started.
Starting a new life in Samdal-ri would not be easy, especially when she ends up bumping into a lost friend. Best friends at one moment and strangers in another, the two leads will be forced to address the incident that drove them away from each other, and they might also accidentally discover their lost feelings for each other.
