When he is transported to the hospital wing, the guards cannot stop him from banging his skull on the metal door. There, he can inform Nikki that his escape plan entails tracking down the eyewitness and hiring someone to kill them. Nikki will likely cooperate because her new reality of having her lover serve time for crimes is already driving her misery.
Possessing money hidden in the ceiling has its purpose. With what Eric perceived to be his dad’s inaction in coping with other gangs intruding on their territory, Eric initiated this rivalry with an impetuous drive-by. This fall into violence is mostly due to Frank’s leadership—or lack thereof—and his constant indecision.
Then we realize that the issue isn’t that Amanda wishes to be in charge; rather, he can’t bear to admit that she is making difficult decisions to preserve what they still have. After he has yet another meltdown over Amanda, Birdy advises her brother to “quit being so f***ing pitiful” since his failure to see the broader picture has left him exposed.
He also makes the error of dismissing Amanda’s capacity for negotiating by dismissing the idea that Eamon would even consider setting up a meeting with her. It appears that burning pure cocaine and heroin gives a contact positive, yet neither Michael nor Amanda seem affected. He didn’t consider that she would explicitly threaten to burn all of Eamon’s substances if he agreed, and she had all her bases covered.
Eamon, traveling to see his son in Spain, chooses an airport lounge as a neutral, secure location because it is a wise and useful decision. Eamon has no idea that his drugs are hidden in a van in what seems to be an airline parking lot.
He cannot allow Amanda to use the price of the drugs as leverage against her, even though she drives a tough deal when coming to a settlement. She knows he must answer to someone regarding the supply, but his reputation is one of tenacity, and he wants one Kinsella dead. Although Michael is his first choice when he hands her the choice, Amanda will never choose one of the guys she loves.
She tells Birdy and Eric that Eamon wishes Eric were killed rather than explaining the choice she was given. Frank is shocked because this is his son. Frank answers angrily, and Amanda says, “You’re the leader, Frank,” before giving him a spiel about losing a kid.
Dunne has been Kin’s MVP all through this season, and he continues to be so in the finale as he patiently deals with the war-making guys. She made a wise choice in choosing the original offender because this is a believable choice, but she hadn’t counted on Birdy getting in touch with Eamon to attempt to bargain for Eric’s existence.
Birdy will undoubtedly hang onto Eamon’s admission that he handed Amanda the final vote as yet another indication of a power grab when he quickly informs her of this. Amanda has another plan in mind, and she only lets a select few people in on the secret.
