Cruel Summer, the teenage thriller series, is back for a sophomore season. It tells the story of a girl named Kate Wallis in the early 1990s; as a teenage girl, her life is everything you’d expect: She’s pretty, she’s peppy, she’s popular and fun, she has a boyfriend and lives life happily. Opposite Kate we have Jeannette Turner, who’s exactly the opposite of Kate; she’s shy, a social outcast, and a bit of a weirdo who aspires to have Kate’s life.
The story moves on, telling us about Kate’s sudden disappearance and how she eventually pops back out. Now, on a second season with more stories and unfoldings, we’re here to tell you the coordinates, details, and more interesting about this show in case you want to pick it up for your consumption and entertainment. So, whether you’re new to Cruel Summer or a regular fan, we’re here to give you all the information you require.
Cruel Summer Season 2 Preview
Cruel Summer tells the story of Kate Wallis, who is kidnapped and mysteriously reappears, unfolding over the years 1993-1995. We also follow the tale of Jeannette Turner, an awkward teenager whose life is transformed after Kate vanishes.
The school’s vice principal, suspected of snatching Kate, keeps her locked in her basement. The plot culminates in a 1995 legal battle between Kate and Jeanette, who Kate blames for “stealing her life.” Jeanette’s transformation into a Kate doppelganger is a key factor, leading to a complex and intriguing tale.
While season 1 doesn’t explain who abducted Kate, the sophomore season will likely pick up on that. There are high expectations for the clarification of several character storyline developments and evident plotholes that were left unanswered from the debut season, and it’s very likely that the sophomore season will address these matters.
